Answer:

Pray dhuhr 4 rakah or jumuah 2 on fridays

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 62 Surah Jumuah verses 9-10:

9 O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly) hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah and leave off business (and traffic): that is best for you if ye but knew!

10 And when the Prayer is finished then may ye disperse through the land and seek of the Bounty of Allah: and celebrate the Praises of Allah often (and without stint): that ye may prosper.

Fiqh-us-Sunnah Fiqh 2.131a

Topic: Who are exempted from the obligatory Friday mid-day prayers.

‘Salatul Jumuah’ is an obligation upon every free, adult, sane, resident male believer who has the ability to attend the ‘salah’ and does not have a valid excuse to miss it. ‘Salatul Jumuah’ however, is not obligatory on the following:

  1. Women.
  2. Children.
  3. The person who is ill and faces hardship if he goes to the masjid, or who fears that his illness will be increased by going to the madjid, or whose recovery will be delayed. This also includes the person who is nursing a very ill person, if especially, the ill person cannot manage in the absence of the nursing person.
  4. For the traveler. This is based on the fact that the Prophet (saws) traveled and did not perform the ‘Salatul Jumuah’ but only prayed the ‘dhuhr’ and 'asr’ together during the time of the ‘dhuhr’ prayers.
  5. Environmental restraints like extreme rain or cold, etc.

All of the above listed people are not obliged to attend the ‘Salatul Jumuah’, but they would be obliged to pray the ‘dhuhr’ prayers.

Your Question: ….BUt in case of other than ramazan, zohar & jumma - are both are to offer or when its jumma zohar is not offered as juma takes its place? please explain for male and female both.

If one (man or woman) attends the Jumuah prayers, the two-rakah Jumuah prayer in congregation would suffice in lieu of the normal 4-rakah ‘dhuhr’ prayers. There is absolutely no evidence in the authentic and established Sunnah that the Messenger of Allah (saws) ever offered the four-rakah ‘dhuhr’ prayers after he (saws) had prayed the 2-rakah Jumuah prayers.

Attending the Jumuah sermon and prayers in congregation is not considered as obligatory for the believing women. If a woman attends the Jumuah prayers and offers the 2-rakah Jumuah prayer in congregation with the believers, that would suffice and she would not be required to offer the 4-rakah ‘dhuhr’ prayers.

But if the believing woman exercises her option to not attend the Jumuah prayer congregation, she would be required to offer a normal 4-rakah ‘dhuhr’ prayer like she would do on the other days of the week.

Attending the Jumuah sermon and prayers is absolutely obligatory upon every free, adult, sane, resident male believer who has the ability to attend the assembly and does not have a valid excuse to miss it. The believers who attend and offer the 2-rakah Jumuah prayers in congregation are not required to offer the 4-rakah ‘dhuhr’ prayers, as the Jumuah sermon and prayers would more than suffice.

But if a believer happens to miss the Jumuah congregation for any reason whatsoever, he would be required to offer a normal 4-rakah ‘dhuhr’ prayer as he would pray on the other days of the week.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
