Dear Mr. Burhan Muslim brother,

One of my friends have asked me below question, pls find some time and reply me.

When morning pray I'm praying and my wish is to that my health should become alright and sura I read from the Quran is Sura Rahmaan,

Mean to say that when I'm asking for my health why I should recite Sura Rahman,

Answer:

Dua to sustain health

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 186:

And if My servants ask you, O Prophet, concerning Me, tell them that I am quite near to them. I hear and answer the prayer of the suppliant, when he calls on Me. So let them respond to My call and believe in Me. (Convey this to them), perhaps they may be guided aright!

Nu'man b. Bashir reported that the Prophet (saws), said, "Verily supplication is worship."

Narrated by Ahmad and Sunan.

Abu Hurairah reported, "The Prophet (saws) said, "Nothing is more dear to Allah than one's supplication to Him.''

Narrated by Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah.

Salman reported that the Prophet (saws), said, "Your Lord, the Blessed and the Exalted One, is Modest and Generous, and He loathes to turn away His servant empty-handed when he raises his hands to Him in supplication."

Narrated by Ahmad and Ibn Hibban.

One is at absolute liberty to make any number of supplications unto their Lord Creator for their betterment in this world and especially the Hereafter wherever and whenever they wish, including during their prayers.

Your Question: Mean to say that when I'm asking for my health why I should recite Sura

Rahman,

Again one is at absolute liberty to recite any number of verses or any Surah from the Glorious Quran after the recitation of Surah Al-Fateha in the first two rakahs of their prayers; and if one wishes and chooses to recite the blessed Surah Ar-Rahmaan in one of their rakahs in the ‘fajr’ or any other prayer, there is absolutely no harm.

But there is absolutely no evidence in the Quran or the authentic and established Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws) that he (saws) would recite the Surah Ar-Rahmaan in his prayers when supplicating his Lord for sustaining his health.

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 5071 Narrated by Abu Bakrah

AbdurRahman ibn AbuBakrah said that he asked his father: ‘O my father! I hear you supplicating every morning: "O Allah! Grant me health in my body. O Allah! Grant me good hearing. O Allah! Grant me good eyesight. There is no god but Thou." You repeat them three times in the morning and three times in the evening. He replied: ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) using these words as a supplication and I like to follow his practice.’
