We are recently migrated to Australia .My husband is appling for job and now he get his job in cigarette company .My question is that is this halal way of finding risq in working cigarette company?Jazakallah

Work in cigarette company

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Dear and beloved Sister in Islam, it is sufficiently proven without a doubt that cigarettes are severely injurious to human health and all the good scholars in Islam are unanimous in their opinion that the evil of cigarettes is extremely close to the forbidden in Islam.

It would not befit the character of a believer to be an accomplice in something which works towards the detriment of mankind; and it would be best if your husband sought to employ his talents elsewhere in search of his lawful sustenance. If you and your husband make this sacrifice only for the sake and fear of Allah, not only will your Lord Most Gracious reward you for your intentions, but Lord Most Bounteous Who provides sustenance for all in His creation will provide you your sustenance from sources you cannot even imagine.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
