Misquoting Prophet: Crying on Hussain

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.  (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Burhan, you foolish person, Rasullah SAW said: Even if you cannot cry on Imam Hussien and can only make a sad face, I will take take you Jannat myself. Imam Jaffer Sadiq said 'Everyday is Ashura'.

Answer:

Misquoting Prophet (saws)

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Dear and beloved brother in Islam, fear Allah and His Accounting before you ascribe something to the Messenger of Allah (saws)! Your above quotation which you have ascribed to the Messenger of Allah (saws) without any sanad or chain or reference, is absolutely against the guidance of the Holy Quran!!! And it is absolutely inconceivable that the noble Messenger of Allah (saws) would say something that is against the guidance and teachings of the Holy Quran.

Allah has declared several times in the Glorious Quran that the road to Paradise is to believe and do righteous good deeds! And you say that the Messenger of Allah (saws) said that he himself will lead those into Paradise who if cannot cry on Imam Hussain, can make a sad face…..

Nowhere it has been mentioned in the Holy Quran or in any of the authentic traditions of the Messenger of Allah (saws), that he (saws) will take those who cry on a particular martyr, or are able to make a sad face, into Paradise! This is the fiction of someone’s imagination and a false hope, and cannot be the words of the noble Messenger of Allah (saws).

Dear Brother, fear Allah and His Wrath, when quoting something from the Messenger of Allah (saws); for the consequence of ascribing a lie to the Prophet (saws) is indeed very severe.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.378 Narrated by Al Mughira

I heard the Prophet (saws) saying, "Ascribing false things to me is not like ascribing false things to anyone else. Whosoever tells a lie against me intentionally then surely let him occupy his seat in Hell-Fire."

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
