He did Hajj from Makkah; can he do a naafil tawaaf in order to do the saa’i of Hajj before standing in ‘Arafah?

I am a Makkan pilgrim. Is it valid for me to do a naafil tawaaf then do the saa’i of Hajj before standing in ‘Arafah?.

Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.

This is not valid, i.e., if the Makkan pilgrim wants to do a voluntary tawaaf then do the saa’i of Hajj before standing in ‘Arafah, this is not valid, because saa’i is only valid after tawaaf al-qudoom (the tawaaf of arrival), but the Makkan (resident of Makkah) does not have to do tawaaf al-qudoom. Based on that, this is not valid, and if he has done this then he has to repeat the saa’i, because the saa’i was not done at the right time.
