Death of good will be good

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Brother, Burhan

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

(May Allah`s Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One question is coming in mind often after the plain crash in Managalore. I seek Allahs' forgiveness all the time.

In the crash many of them are Muslims brother, sister & childerns. (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Ragioun) Allah blessed them with his mercy & Jannah. I heard from many that those who done good deeds during their life time their end will be good.

How we can think or consider them. Please forgive me if my thinking is wrong.

Answer:

Death of good will be good

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Statement: ….I heard from many that those who done good deeds during their life time their end will be good.

The physical state and condition of how death approaches each individual has absolutely nothing to do with one’s belief or deeds. There might be an extremely evil person who has a seemingly ‘honorable’ death in their sleep; and one might be a true believer and experience death in seemingly ‘horrible’ circumstances! How exactly death approaches one in this physical world has absolutely no relation to the belief or the deeds of the individual….it is but a Decree and Determination of the Lord Most Majestic, Most High.

The first martyrs of Islam, Hadrat Yasir (r.a.) and Hadrat Sumayyah (r.a.) were merciless tortured by the Quraysh of Makkah only because they refused to associate another god with Allah Subhanah….. so much so that Hadrat Yasir’s body was pulled apart and Hadrat Summayyah was repeatedly stabbed until she bled to death!

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.809 Narrated by Khabbab bin Al Arat

We complained to Allah's Messenger (saws) (of the persecution inflicted on us by the disbelieving Quraysh) while he (saws) was sitting in the shade of the Ka'ba, leaning over his Burd (i.e. covering sheet). We said to him, "Would you seek help for us? Would you pray to Allah for us?" The Prophet (saws) said, "Among the nations before you a (believing) man would be put in a ditch that was dug for him, and a saw would be put over his head and he would be cut into two pieces; yet that (torture) would not make him give up his religion. His body would be combed with iron combs that would remove his flesh from the bones and nerves, yet that would not make him abandon his religion. By Allah, this religion (i.e. Islam) will prevail till a traveler from Sana (in Yemen) to Hadrarmaut will fear none but Allah, but you (people) are hasty!”

Another example of a seemingly ‘horrible’ death is of a woman who committed the heinous act of ‘zina’ during the time of the Prophet (saws). Seeking repentance, she herself went to the Messenger of Allah (saws) and admitted her crime, whereby the Prophet (saws) had no choice but to sentence her to be stoned to death! Such was the acceptance of her sincere repentance that the Messenger of Allah (saws) himself prayed the funeral prayer over her body and declared: “By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, she has repented to such an extent that if it were divided amongst seventy people of Medina, it would have been enough for them all! And what do you find better than the fact that she gave her life for the Sake (or Fear) of Allah Subhanah!” (Related by Abu Dawood)

Thus brother, we reiterate again, that the physical nature, state, or condition in which death approaches an individual has absolutely nothing to do with one’s belief or deeds….death is but a Decree and Determination of the Lord Most Majestic, Most Supreme.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
