Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
salam
alaikum,
I have
few questions. The first one is "Was Muhammad sallalahu alaihiwasallam a
normal man being a messenger or not?"
what
is the difference between a messenger and a normal man?
can a
normal man become a messenger by worshiping more to Allaha subhanawah Taalla?
Does a
man has to worship Allaha subhanawa talla even after going into jannath?
Also I
would like to know why am I getting these kind of questions, Is it because
shaitaan disturbing me or what?
Please
help me by answering these questions.

Answer:
Prophet(Saws) was a
human being
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Your
Question: Was Muhammad sallalahu alaihiwasallam a normal man being a messenger
or not? what is the difference between a messenger and a normal man?
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 32 Surah
Sajdah verses 7-8:
He (Allah) began the
creation of man (Adam (a.s.)) with (nothing more than) clay; and made his
progeny from a quintessence of the nature of a fluid despised.
Allah Subhanah clearly Declares in the Quran that He
created the first human being of clay and created his progeny from a nature of
fluid. Prophet Mohamed (saws) is,
without an iota of a doubt, from amongst the off-springs of Adam (a.s)….and
Adam (a.s.) was created from clay.
Some people, in their excess, try to hold and spread such
false beliefs that the Prophet (saws) was not created like the other human
beings, and thus try to propagate that he (saws) was created like the Angels
from ‘noor’ or light! Because they
believe that if the Prophet (saws) was only a human being, then what would be the
difference between him and other human beings?
So, in their excess, they try to invent falsehoods and say things about
the Prophet (saws) and his self which have absolutely no basis in reality! People who claim such falsehood, in their
excess and their ignorance, try to belittle the noble Prophet (saws) by claiming
he was created from ‘noor’ like the Angels!
The greatness and significance of the Noble Prophet (saws) lies in the
fact that he, like all the other human beings, was created from clay, possessed
the nature of a human being, and was bestowed with a ‘free will’ to choose
obedience or disobedience like every human being; and the Noble Prophet (saws)
chose to submit himself unconditionally to His Supreme Lord and Creator.
Had he (saws) been created from ‘noor’, he would have been
an angel, who do not possess the nature of human beings, do not have to fight
temptation like the humans, and do not possess a ‘free will’ to choose between
obedience and disobedience! Greatness
and magnificence is when one is bestowed with the weak nature of man, and this
human being chooses to remain an obedient slave of his Lord and Creator!
Allah Subhanah has Himself commanded the Prophet (saws) to
declare in the Glorious Quran, that he
(saws) is no more than a ‘bashar’ (human being); the only difference being that
he (saws) has been chosen as a Messenger of Allah, is directly inspired and
guided by Allah Subhanah, and receives Revelations from the Lord of the Worlds.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah
Kahf verse 110:
Say (O Prophet) : "I am but a
‘bashar’ (human) like yourselves
(but) the inspiration has come to me: that your Allah is one Allah: whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and in the worship of his Lord admit no one
as partner."
Your
Question: ….can a normal man become a messenger by worshiping more to Allaha
subhanawah Taalla?
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah
Ale-Imraan verse 179:
179 Allah will not leave the believers in the state in which ye are now
until He separates what is evil from what is good. Nor will He disclose to you the secrets of
the Unseen. But He chooses of his
Messengers (for His Purpose) whom He pleases. So believe in Allah and His Messengers: and if
ye believe and do right, ye will have a reward without measure.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah
Hajj verses 74-76:
74 No just estimate have they made of Allah: for Allah is He Who is
Strong and able to carry out His Will.
75 Allah chooses Messengers from amongst Angels and from amongst men: for Allah is He Who Hears and Sees (all things).
76 He Knows what is before them and what is behind them: and to Allah
go back all questions (for decision).
Absolutely and totally regardless of the quality or
quantity of one’s deeds, none in creation can even imagine to aspire to become
a Messenger of Allah…..The Lord Most Majestic Most Supreme Alone, based on His
Perfect Knowledge and Absolute Wisdom, chooses and appoints whomsoever He Wills
and Pleases as His Messengers.
Your Question:
Does a man has to worship Allaha subhanawa talla even after going into jannath?
Allah Says
in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verses 73-75:
73 And those who feared their Lord will be led to the Garden (
74 They will say: "Praise be to Allah Who has truly fulfilled His promise to us and has given us (this)
land in heritage: we can dwell in the Garden as we will: how excellent a reward
for those who work (righteousness)!"
75 And thou wilt see the Angels surrounding the (Divine) Throne on all
sides singing Glory and Praise to their Lord.
The Decision between them (at Judgment) will be in (perfect)
justice. And the cry (on all
sides) will be "Praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds!"
The absolute majority of the scholars and jurists in Islam
are of the opinion that one would not have to make an effort or strive to
worship their Lord as they have to in the trial of this short and transitory
world…..but the worship of the Lord Most Majestic Most Supreme by the fortunate
dwellers of Paradise in the Hereafter will be as natural to them as breathing
is to one who is alive! And Allah Alone
Knows Best.
Your
Question: Also I would like to know why am I getting these kind of questions,
Is it because shaitaan disturbing me or what?
Respected brother in Islam, never ever hesitate or
apologize for asking any questions in the deen; for the deen or ‘way of life’
called Al-Islam is based on the Perfect Wisdom and Knowledge of the All Knowing
Lord, and every single command of the All Wise Lord is abundant in common-sense
and logic. Asking any type of questions
in Islam to gain more knowledge, or to confirm the Truth so that one’s heart is
more content, or to understand and thus follow with more conviction the
dictates of the deen is not only permissible, but absolutely encouraged in
Islam. It is the right of the brother or
sister to ask anything they wish to clarify in the deen; and it is the
responsibility and duty of the good scholars to address the question asked to
the best of their knowledge and ability, and in the most polite and humble
manner.
What is discouraged in Islam is if one asks questions for
the sake of asking, or arguing to ridicule the Truth with absolutely no
intention of obeying or following when the Truth is made clear to them,
etc. But if one asks questions to
clarify and seek knowledge so that one may better follow the deen; such seeking
of the Knowledge of Truth is absolutely encouraged in Islam
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
