Sixth Sense
Mu' meneen Brothers
and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Dear Brother
Burhan. May Allah Subhanah give you infinite reward for the great service your
are doing for the Muslim Ummah. I keep going through the question archive of
your web site and i`ve come across some of the threatening, mocking statements
sent to you by the dawoodi-bohra people. May Allah Subhanah keep you steadfast
on this way and may Allah Subhanah guide the rest of the Muslims specially
those who do the heinous sin of `shirk` in the name of Islam.
My present
question relates to a matter which is a bit confusing to me. We Muslims know (
and firmly believe) that the knowledge of the unseen lies with Allah swt alone.
He is the one and the only who knows exactly what lies ahead in the future for
us ,our destinies ,our hopes, our desires etc etc, in short He is the only
possessor of every kind of knowledge. But sometimes it so happens that just a
little before some important incident ,we get alarmed. We have a premoniton
that something is gonna happen in near future. Infact, this is my own personal
xperience that mostly, if not always, my 6th sense starts beeping about a
particular happening. if its not the 6th sense then its my dreams and a lot of
my dreams have come true over the last few years. How is it so ?? Howcome i get
hints about a future happening ??? What is this 6th sense which gives us
signals prior to some happening ???
Waiting for an xplicit reply with references to the Quran and the Hadith.

grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not

Answer:
Sixth sense
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no
prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
May
Allah Subhanah reward you with the best in this world and in the Hereafter for
your kind comments and your encouragement of our humble efforts. May Allah Subhanah accept our humble and
weak efforts, forgive us our
short-comings, and save you, us,
and all the believers from the torment of the Hell Fire. Ameen.
It is indeed true that none
other than Allah Subhanah has the Absolute Knowledge of the Unseen and what is
going to transpire in the future. At
times, Allah Subhanah, if He wills, portrays something of the unseen to mankind either through good
dreams or putting a thought in the person’s mind. What modern terminology has termed as the ‘sixth sense’ is
nothing more than a thought or premonition that Allah Subhanah puts in the
hearts of man, either as a test, or a warning, or to give glad tidings or good news. Allah Subhanah puts these thoughts into the hearts of any person
He Wills.
Sahih Al-Bukhari
Hadith 9.119 Narrated by Abu
Huraira
I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) saying, "Nothing is left of the Prophetism
except Al-Mubashshirat." They
asked, "What are Al-Mubashshirat?"
He (saws) replied, "The
true good dreams (that conveys glad tidings)."
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 9.116 Narrated by Ubada bin As Samit
The Prophet (saws)
said, "The (good) dreams of a faithful believer is a part of the forty-six
parts of Prophetism."
Al-Muwatta Hadith 52.4
Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said that Abu
Salama ibn Abd ar-Rahman said, "I heard Abu Qatada ibn Ribiyy say that he
heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say,
'The good dream is from Allah,
and the bad dream is from shaytan.
When you see what you dislike, spit to your left side three times when
you wake up, and seek refuge with Allah from its evil. It will not harm you then, Allah willing.'”
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows
Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in
Islam,
Burhan
