There are no halal means to a haram.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
I have
heard a hadith, where the prophet (saws) said: “There are no halal means to a
haram end; and there are no haram means to a halal end”, meaning that the means
and end result/objective both must be halal for a deed to qualify as a halal
deed.
(There may be some grammatical and spelling
errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from
questions, comments and statements received from our readers for circulation in
confidentiality.)
Answer:
Prophet(saws)
hadeeth authentic
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Dear and beloved brother in Islam, as much as the message
of the statement declared may be absolutely true and correct, to the best of
our knowledge, we have not come across or found the exact quoted narration in
any of the books of the authentic and established hadiths of the Messenger of
Allah (saws).
But without an iota of a doubt, both the means and the
‘intended’ end result must be lawful for a deed to be accepted as good and
righteous by Allah Subhanah.
Sahih Muslim Hadith 2214 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah
Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘O people,
Allah is Good and Pure and He, therefore, accepts only that which is good and
pure!’
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
