Answer:
Estranged relations
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Sahih Muslim Hadith 6212 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar
Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘It is
not permissible for a Muslim to have estranged relations with his brother
(believer) beyond three days.’
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 1128 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas
The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: ‘There
are three people whose prayer does not ascend beyond their heads, even to the
length of a span: the person who leads people in prayer despite their
disapproval; a woman who spends the night (in a state) in which her husband is
annoyed with her; and the two brothers (believers) who are estranged.
Sahih Muslim Hadith 6222 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah
Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘The gates of
Paradise are not opened but on two days, Monday and Thursday, and every servant
(of Allah) is granted pardon who does not associate anything with Allah except
the person in whose (heart) there is rancour against his (believing) brother.
And it would be said: ‘Leave them until there is reconciliation; leave them
until there is reconciliation; leave them until there is reconciliation.’ In a
similar hadith narrated by Suhayl the words are: ‘Those who boycott each other
would not be granted pardon.’
It is not lawful for a believer, who sincerely believes in
Allah and the Last Day, to remain estranged with his believing brother for a
period of more than three days; and it is the duty of the other believers to
strive their utmost to reconcile and make peace between their two estranged brothers.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 49 Surah
Hujuraat verse 10:
10 The believers are but a single brotherhood: so make peace
and reconciliation between your two (estranged) brothers: And fear
Allah that ye may receive Mercy.
Although the guidance of Islam is to always speak and say
nothing but the truth, the Messenger of Allah (saws) said that even if one had
to invent or forge something or say a ‘lie’ in their effort to reconcile the
differences between two estranged believers, one would not be considered a liar
in the Sight of Allah Subhanah!
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 3.857 Narrated by Um Kulthum bint Uqba
That she heard Allah's Messenger (saws)
saying, "He who makes peace between the people by inventing good
information or saying good things, is not a liar."
Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4902 Narrated by Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah
al-Umawiyyah
The Prophet (saws) said: “He who fabricated
(something) in order to put things right between two persons did not lie.” The
version by Ahmad ibn Muhammad and Musaddad states the the Prophet (saws)
declared: “The liar is not the one who puts things right between people, saying
what is good and increasing good.”
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
