Answer:
Keep pigeons as pet
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
The pigeon, unlike the swine or the dog which are declared
as impure animals, is a pure animal…and there is absolutely no harm if a
believers wishes to keep them as pets in their homes.
The Messenger of Allah (saws) guided the believers who
wished to keep lawful animals as pets, that they should honor their pets and
feed and water them appropriately or let them free to search their own
sustenance and survival…..for if one were abusive to one’s pets, neither fed
them nor watered them appropriately, then indeed they would have to account for
their cruelty and injustice, even if it were only to an animal, in the Court of
Allah Subhanah on the Day of Judgment!
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 3.552 Narrated by Asma bint Abi Bakr
The Prophet (saws) prayed the eclipse prayer,
and then said, "Hell was displayed so close that I said, 'O my Lord! Am I
going to be one of its inhabitants?' "
He (saws) said he was suddenly shown a woman who was being scratched by
a cat. He (saws) said, "What is wrong with her?" He (saws) was told,
"She had imprisoned it (i.e. the cat) till it died of hunger."
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 3.553 Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar
Allah's Messenger (saws) said, "A woman
was tortured and was put in Hell because of a cat which she had kept locked
till it died of hunger." Allah's Messenger (saws) further said that the
woman was told: 'You neither fed it nor watered when you locked it up, nor did
you set it free to eat the creatures of the earth.' "
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
