Answer:

How many in boycot of makkah

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: Can you please let me know how many people there were with the Prophet(saws) in Shaib - e - Abi Talib

The pagan chiefs of the Quraish had declared a complete boycott of every person who belonged to the tribe and clan of Banu-Hashim, thus regardless of whether they were believers or disbelievers, every single member of the tribe of Banu-Hashim were under boycott, save only a couple of people like evil and accursed Abu-Lahab, the Prophet’s (saws) uncle.

The boycott was specific to the clan and tribe of Banu-Hashim; thus there were many disbelievers in the clan of Banu-Hashim, but they too were boycotted, and there were many believers who were not from the tribe of Banu-Hashim, thus they were not boycotted.

There is no definite number mentioned of exactly how many people at that time belonged to the tribe of Banu-Hashim, but almost all reports claim the number to be less than a hundred people, including men, women and children. And Allah Alone Knows Best.

Your Question: more precisely were Prophet ( saws) beloved daughter Hazrat Fatima ( ra) and her children Hazrat Hassan & Hazrat Hussain ( ra) with him during the said trying period?

The dates recorded of the boycott of Banu-Hashim state that it started in the month of Muharram six years prior to Hijrah and lasted for three years. Because Hadrat Fatimah (r.a.), the daughter of the Prophet (saws), belonged to the tribe of Banu-Hashim, she was obviously amongst those who suffered the boycott of the Quraish.

Hadrat Fatimah (r.a.) marriage with Hadrat Ali (r.a.) took place in Madinah approximately two years after Hijrah to Medina; thus Hadrat Hassan ibn Ali (r.a.) and Hadrat Hussain ibn Ali (r.a.) were not even born during the boycott period in Makkah. Hadrat Hassan (r.a.) was born in Madinah approximately six years after the end of the boycott.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
