Assalam O Alaekum WW, One of my friend is not clear about the concept of Returning Esa (AS) back to this world. Specially he is saying if it is so why quran is not saying anything about it. Can you give me some references specially from Quran and hadiths. Take Care and Allah Hafiz

Answer:

The return of jesus

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verses 157-159:

157 That they (The Jews) said (in boast) "We killed Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah"; but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them; and those who differ therein are full of doubts with no (certain) knowledge but only conjecture to follow; for of a surety they killed him not.

158 Nay! Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power Wise.

159 And there is none of the People of the Book but must believe in him before his death; and on the Day of Judgment He will be a witness against them.

Although the Quran itself is ‘almost’ silent regarding the issue of the second coming of Prophet Isa (a.s.) to the earth before the end of time, there are several authentic narrations from the Messenger of Allah (saws) which prophesize its happening. In light of the various narrations of the Prophet Mohamed (saws), it is absolutely clear that Prophet Isa (a.s.) will come to earth again before the end of time, follow the Shariah of the Quran, and will annihilate the evil liar and disbeliever, Ad-Dajjal.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.658 Narrated by Abu Huraira

Allah's Messenger (saws) said "How will you be when the son of Maryam (i.e. Prophet Isa (a.s.)) descends amongst you, and he will judge people by the Law of the Qur'an and not by the law of Gospel!”

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 4310 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

The Prophet (saws) said: ‘There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Isa (a.s.). He (Isa (a.s.)) will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the Cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him.’

Sahih Muslim Hadith 293 Narrated by Jabir ibn Abdullah

I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say: ‘Isa (a.s.), the son of Maryam, would then descend and their (Muslims') commander would invite him to come and lead them in prayer, but he would say: ‘No, some amongst you are commanders over some (amongst you). This is the honour from Allah for this (Muslim) Ummah.’

Sahih Muslim Hadith 2877 Narrated by Abu Hurayrah

Hanzalah al-Aslami reported: ‘I heard Abu Hurayrah as narrating from Allah's Messenger (saws) who said: ‘By Him in Whose Hand is my life, Ibn Maryam (Isa (a.s.)) would certainly pronounce Talbiyah for Hajj or for Umrah or for both in the valley of Rawha.’

Sahih Muslim Hadith 7023 (part) Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr

…..He then reported that Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘The Dajjal will appear in my Ummah and he will stay (in the world) for forty—(I cannot say whether he meant forty days, forty months or forty years.) Allah will then send Isa (a.s.), son of Maryam, who will chase the Dajjal and kill him…….

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 5772 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Salam

The description of Muhammad is written in the Torah, and also that Isa (a.s.), son of Mary, will be buried alongside him (beside the grave of Prophet Mohamed (saws) in Madinah).

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 83 Surah Najm verses 1-5:

1 By the star when it goes down!

2 Your Companion (Prophet Mohamed (saws)) is neither astray nor being misled

3 Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) desire.

4 It is no less than an inspiration sent down unto him:

5 He (saws) was taught by one, mighty in power (Hadrat Jibrael (a.s.)

Dear and beloved brother in Islam, it is the ardent belief of every believer who sincerely believes in Allah and the Last Day that every single Word spoken by the Messenger of Allah (saws) is nothing short of the Absolute Truth, for Allah Subhanah, the Lord of the World Himself guarantees in His Glorious Quran that the Prophet Mohamed (saws) said aught not of his own desire on any matter or subject of the deen, but they were inspirations send down unto him (saws)!

Thus when the Messenger of Allah (saws) narrates the exact occurrences which will occur closer to the end of time (including the second coming of the Noble Messenger of Allah, Prophet Isa ibn Maryam (a.s.)), it is the belief of every believer who sincerely believes in Allah and the Last Day, that the events will occur exactly as prophesized by our Noble Prophet (saws)….for Prophet Mohamed (saws) said nothing save the Truth…..and in Allah and His Messenger (saws) the believers have believed.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
