Answer:
Keep name suzanne
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Dear and
beloved Sister, a name is no more than an assigned form of recognition; thus it
is permissible in Islam for one to assign any good name to their
off-spring. The only names which are
impermissible are those names which connote ‘shirk’, disbelief, or have an
inherent evil meaning.
The term
‘Suzanne’ is obviously not an Arabic term, and it seems it is probably derived
from old Greek or Latin; we are absolutely unaware of its exact meaning. As long as the term ‘Suzanne’ does not
connote ‘shirk’ or disbelief, or does not have an inherent evil meaning, there
is absolutely no harm in assigning this name to a girl, if one sincerely wishes
to do so.
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me alone.
Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
