Answer:
Is kissing of tomb or grave allowed
in Islam?
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Firstly, it is absolutely
impermissible in Islam to make a tomb or shrine over a grave, or erecting any
sort of a structure on the graves of the deceased.
Jabir reported: "The Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade the whitewashing of a grave, sitting on
it, or erecting any structure on it." (Reported by
Ahmad, Muslim, Nasa'i, Abu Daw'ud,
and Tirmidhi.)
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.425 Narrated
by Aisha
When the Prophet (saws) became ill, some of his wives
talked about a church which they had seen in
It is not permissible for a
believer, who sincerely fears Allah and the Last Day, to kiss the grave of
anyone, whoever that deceased person might be!
Kissing the grave or the tomb of someone, would
imply grave-worship; and the worship of anything or any being other than Allah Subhanah is considered a heinous sin in Islam.
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.
