Answer:

Drops of Urine after Prayer

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verse 6:

6 O ye who believe! When ye prepare for prayer wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows, rub your heads (with water), and (wash) your feet to the ankles. If ye are in a state of ceremonial impurity bathe your whole body. But if ye are ill or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water then take for yourselves clean sand or earth and rub therewith your faces and hands. Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty but to make you clean and to complete His favor to you that ye may be grateful.

From what you have mentioned, it could be one of two things:

  1. You might have experienced a ‘wet-dream’ in your sleep prior to waking up for your prayers.
  2. It might be that a few drops of urine might have been released during or after your prayers.

Ref: wet-dream

If it were a ‘wet-dream’ you would have noticed when you got up after your sleep and went for wudu that a substantial amount of liquid (sperm) had been released unaware in your state of sleep. If such was the case, then a full bath of purification or ‘ghusl’ is obligatory after a wet-dream and a pre-condition to prayer; thus the prayer you prayed without ‘ghusl’ would be invalid and you would have to repeat that prayer.

But because you neither felt the wetness when you got up from your sleep, nor did you feel it during the entire process of doing wudu….in all probability it seems that you did not experience a wet-dream.

Ref: few drops of urine

Because you felt the urge to pass urine during your state of prayer, it might be that a few drops of urine might have been released and it was this that was the ‘liquid like water’ which you later found in your underwear.

The passing of urine invalids the ‘wudu’ which is a pre-condition for prayer, and if you did pass urine, even only a few drops, during your prayer that prayer would be invalid and you should repeat that prayer.

In any of the above two cases, because the physical purification is a pre-condition to prayers, the prayer that you offered would be invalid and it would be best and safest if you could repeat that prayer; it is expected that you will find your Lord Merciful and Forgiving.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
