Answer:
Selling silk ties
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can
misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We
bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no
prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone,
and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of
His Messengers.
The Messenger of Allah (saws)
forbade the believing man to wear silk, and made it permissible for the
believing women. Silk is not haraam because of its inherent nature, but rather it was
declared haraam by Allah and His Messenger (saws) as
a test, and in accordance with Divine Wisdom.
The things that are inherently haraam are
intoxicants, swine, meat of animal that has died by itself, etc.
It is recorded in an authentic
narration that one of the noble companions received some silk as a gift, and he
gave it away to his own brother who was not a believer.
The majority of the scholars are
of the opinion that it is perfectly legal to buy or sell silk and silk
products, just as it is perfectly legal in Islam to trade in gold or gold
products. The Messenger of Allah (saws)
specifically forbade the believing man to wear silk and gold.
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in Islam,
