Answer:
What should one say after Prophet or companions name?
In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzaab verse 56: Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that
believe! send ye blessings on him and salute him with all respect.
Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari reported the
following account from Bashir ibn Sa'd: "I asked the Prophet (saws), 'O
Messenger of Allah, Allah has commanded
us to invoke blessings upon you. How should we do it?' The Messenger of Allah (saws) remained silent
until we wished we had not asked him. Then he told us to say: 'Allahumma salli
'ala muhammadin wa 'ala ali muhammadin kama sallayta 'ala ali ibrahima, wa barik 'ala muhammadin wa 'ala ali
muhammadin kama barakta 'ala ibrahima wa 'ala ali ibrahima fil 'alamin, innaka
hammidum majeed.’
(O Allah, bless Muhammad and the
family of Muhammad as You blessed the family of Ibrahim, and give baraka to
Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You gave baraka to the family of
Ibrahim, in all the worlds. You are worthy of Praise and Most Glorious)."
(Narrated by Muslim)
Allah
Subhanah has commanded the believers to send salutation upon the Prophet
Mohamed (saws); and when asked the Messenger of Allah (saws) taught the
believers how to obey the command of Allah in the above authentic narration.
Thus
whenever the name of Prophet Mohamed (saws) is mentioned, one may recite the
whole ‘durood’, or state ‘sallal laaho alayhe wa sallam’ (peace and blessings
of Allah be upon him) which would suffice.
Your
Question: what do we say for other prohets individually like hazrat nuh peace
and blessings of Allah be upon him?
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 37 Surah Saafaat verses 79,
109, 120, 130, 181:
79 "Peace and salutation (Salaam) to Noah among the nations!"
109 "Peace and salutation (Salaam) to Abraham!"
120 "Peace and salutation to (Salaam) Moses and Aaron!"
130 "Peace and salutation (Salaam) to such as Elias!"
181 And Peace (Salaam) on (all) the Messengers!
Time and
again all over the Quran, the Merciful Lord Himself declares ‘Salaam’ or peace
upon the various Messengers. Thus
whenever one hears or takes the name of any of Allah’s Messengers, it would be
righteous etiquette to say ‘Alayhum us-Salaam’ or ‘peace upon them’.
Your
Question: as my friend said only for prophet muhammad we say peace and
blessings of Allah be upon him
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 37 Surah Saafaat
verse 181: And Peace (Salaam) on (all) the
Messengers!
Allah
Subhanah declares ‘Salaam’ or peace upon all the Messengers, thus
it is not true that only when Prophet Mohamed’s (saws) name is pronounced one
should say ‘peace and blessings of Allah be upon him’; but it would be
considered righteousness to declare ‘salaam’ or peace upon all of them.
Your
Question: for radhiyallho what do we say in english.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 100: The vanguard of Islam, from amongst the ‘Muhaajirs’ (the first of
those who forsook their homes) and the ‘Ansaars’ (those who gave them
aid), and (also) those who follow them
in (all) good deeds: well pleased
is Allah with them, as are they with Him: for them hath He prepared
gardens under which rivers flow to dwell therein for ever: that is the supreme
felicity.
In the
above Aayah (and several other Aayahs) of the Glorious Quran, Allah Subhanah
declares that He is ‘well pleased’ with the noble companions of the Messenger
of Allah (saws), the vanguards of Islam from amongst the Muhajirs and the
Ansaars, and those who followed them in good righteous deeds.
Thus
whenever the names of any of the noble companions of the Messenger of Allah
(saws) are mentioned, it would be considered righteous etiquette to supplicate
for them and say ‘radhe-Allaho-ann’ or ‘may Allah be well-pleased with
them’.
Your
Question: for the prophets` wifes what should one say. (individually) e.g
hazrat
Firstly, Hadrat Fatimah (r.a.) is one of the daughters of the Prophet
(saws). When the name of any of the
noble and chaste wives of the Messenger of Allah (saws) is mentioned, or the
name of any of his children is mentioned; one should supplicate the same as one
would for any of the noble companions of the Messenger of Allah (saws); ie. by
saying: ‘radhe-Allaho-ann’ (‘annha’ for
female) or ‘may Allah be well-pleased with him/her’.
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
