Parents permission for Mujahideen

Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Dear respected brothers,
It is my understanding that if jihad is fard e kifayyah, on a muslim, than he
needs to obtain parental permission to go to jihad, but what I would like to
know is, whether or not someone would need the same permission to HELP, the
mujahideen, either finacially, politcally etc.
Your answer would be most appreciated.

Answer:
Parent’s permission
for Mujahideen
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Sunan of Abu-Dawood
Hadith 2524 Narrated by Abu Sa'id
al-Khudri
A man emigrated to
the Messenger of Allah (saws) from the Yemen.
He (saws) asked (him): ‘Have you anyone (of your relatives) in the
Yemen?’ He replied: ‘My parents.’ He
(saws) asked: ‘Did they permit you?’ He
replied: ‘No.’ He (saws) then said: ‘Go
back to them and ask for their permission. If they permit you, then fight (in
the path of Allah), otherwise be devoted to them.’
Your Question: but what I would like to know is, whether
or not someone would need the same permission to HELP, the mujahideen, either
finacially, politcally etc.
Only when one chooses to fight
himself in a jihad which is ‘fard-kifaayah’, he is required to seek the
permission of his parents. But if one
wishes to help in any Cause of Allah Subhanah, be it with his finance, or his
speech, or his pen, or his thought, or any thing else for that matter, it is
not obligatory on him to seek his parent’s approval; provided none of these
acts take him away from the serving of his parents which is a deed declared as
‘fard-ayn’ (absolutely and unconditionally obligatory) by Allah and His
Messenger (saws).
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
