Answer:

Giving gold to men

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 808 Narrated by Abu Musa Ash'ari

The Prophet (saws) said: “Wearing silk and gold has been made unlawful for the males of my Ummah, and lawful for their females.”

The Messenger of Allah (saws) indeed declared the wearing of gold haraam for the believing men; and the one who disobeys the Messenger of Allah (saws) has indeed disobeyed Allah Subhanah; and the disobedience of Allah and His Messenger (saws) is a grave sin in Islam.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisa verse 79-80: We have sent you (O Mohamed) as a Messenger to mankind, and Allah’s witness suffices for this. Whoever obeys the Messenger, in fact obeys Allah, and whoever turns away from him, he will be accountable for his deeds. Anyhow, we have not sent you (O Mohamed) to be a guardian over them.

There is absolutely no harm in men dealing or trading in gold or gold objects, provided one does not personally wear them.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 3.782 Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar

Umar bin Al-Khattab saw a silken dress (cloak) being sold at the gate of the Mosque and said, "O Messenger of Allah (saws)! Would that you buy it and wear it on Fridays and when the delegates come to you?" The Messenger of Allah (saws) said, "This is worn by the one who will have no share in the Hereafter." Later on some silk dresses were brought and Allah's Messenger (saws) sent one of them to 'Umar. 'Umar said, "How do you give me this to wear while you said what you said about the dress of 'Utarid?" The Messenger of Allah (saws) said, "I have not given it to you to wear." So, 'Umar gave it to a pagan brother of his in Mecca.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
