I think you are a Liar, and the 90 year old pontiff is true. But like you said we'll all find out on the day. Until then, i have this question
which requires your office's wisdom, and quranic quotations, in an answered letter. If a brother came to you, with the Quran commissioned to his memory, understood its literal and transient meaning that you state repeatedly is crystal clear for followers, and said, the 90 year old pontiff is right, aren't you wrong then my friend? Awaiting your most valued response to all "suspecting" believers.

You are a Liar.

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Fair enough! You have a right to your opinion, and we to ours. And again, we reiterate our position, that one Day everyone will be able to clearly distinguish the Truth from the falsehood. If one recognizes the Truth in this life, and follows the clear commandments of the Holy Quran, and the established tradition of the Messenger of Allah (saws), he will come out successful in this test. If one does not recognize this Truth, and lives his life in the worship and invocation of false deities, graves, and human beings; will realize on that Inevitable Day that he followed falsehood blindly, without having any evidence or authority from Allah Subhanah. Then he will have no one to blame, except himself.

 

You are welcome to take your chances with Allah and hold on to this 90-year old pontiff and his family, or any other person or grave. We will believe and follow the commandments of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Messenger (saws).

 

You are welcome to believe in the promises of ‘shafaa’ and intercession made by this 90-year old pontiff and his family! We will believe in the promises made by Allah Subhanah in the Holy Quran.

 

You are welcome to make your invocations and your ‘sajdah-tus-shukr’ to this 90-year old pontiff! We will invoke, worship and bow down in sajdah to our Lord and Creator Allah Alone!

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah An-Nisa verse 122: The promise of Allah is true, and who can be truer in his word than Allah?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 77-78: Do they really not know that Allah is fully aware of what they hide and what they disclose? Then there are among them some ignorant people who have no knowledge of the Book, but depend upon empty hopes and are guided by mere conjecture and guesswork.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anam verses 81-82: And there is no reason why I should fear those beings you associate with Allah, when you are not afraid of setting up partners with Allah without any authority. Then tell me, which of the two parties merits peace and freedom from fear? It is those who believe and do not confuse their beliefs with falsehood, that are truly in security, and they are the ones who are rightly guided.

 

Our duty was only to invite you to the Truth, and Allah is our witness, we have done that.

Conversely, if a brother came to you, with the understanding of the clear verses and guidance of the Quran, and gave you clear evidence from the Quran that this 90 year old pontiff was wrong, would you then believe?

 

And what if the Holy Quran itself stated clearly that no-one has the right to be invoked, bowed down to, or worshipped except Allah Alone, would that not make the 90 year old pontiff a liar?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 41 Surah Fusselat verse 37: Do not do ‘sajdah’ to the sun and the moon, but do ‘sajdah’ to that Allah, Who Created them, if you really are indeed His worshippers.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verse 77: O you who believe, do ‘rukoo’ and ‘sajdah’ to Allah Alone, worship Allah Alone, and do righteous deeds. It may be that you attain true success.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 12 Surah Yusuf verse 108: (O Mohamed) tell them plainly, “This is my Way! I invite you to Allah. I myself see my Way in full light, and my followers see it too. And Allah is absolutely free from defect, and I have nothing to do with those who invoke others with Allah.”

 

And what if the Holy Quran itself says that the true believers have to follow only the clear guidance of the Quran? And what if the Quran calls all those who look for the transient (or taweel) meanings of the aayahs and interpret them arbitrarily have perversity in their hearts, and are deniers of the Truth. Would you then believe?

What if Allah states clearly in the Quran that He Alone knows the taweel of the aayahs of the Quran. Would that not make the 90 year old pontiff a liar, who also claims to understand the ‘taweel’ of the Quran?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran in Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verse 7: It is Allah, Who sent down this Quran to you. (There are two kinds of verses in the Book.) In it are verses Basic or Fundamental (of established meanings which can be easily understood), and they are the essence or foundation of the Book. And the other verses are Allegorical or Ambiguous. Those in whose hearts is perversity will always go for the Allegorical or Ambiguous verses, seeking discord and trying to search for their hidden meanings. None, except Allah, knows their real meanings (Ta’aweel)! In contrast to them, those who are firmly grounded in knowledge, say: “We believe in them all, because all of them are from our Lord.

 

And what if the Quran says that no one will have the right of his own accord to intercede with Allah? Would that not make your 90 year old pontiff a confirmed liar, who promises his intercession to the unsuspecting muslims?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anam verse 94: (And Allah will say), “So, you have come before Us all alone, as We created you at first. Now, you have left behind all that We gave you in the world. Now We do not see with you those ‘shufa’a’(intercessors), who, you believed, had a share in moulding your destinies! All the relations between you and them have been cut off, and all those, in whom you trusted, have left you in the lurch.”

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 10 Surah Yunus verse 18: These people worship beside Allah those which can neither harm nor benefit them, and say, “These are our ‘shofa’a’ (intercessors) with Allah!” O Mohammed, tell them, “Do you wish to inform Allah of that thing which He knows to be neither in the heavens nor in the earth?” He is absolutely free from, and exalted above the shirk that they commit.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 40 Surah Mumin verse 18: O Prophet, warn them of the Day that has approached near, when the hearts will leap up to the throats and the people will be standing mute, grief-stricken; and the wrong-doers will neither have any kindly friend nor any ‘shafaa’ (intercessor) who may be listened to.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 40 Surah Mumin verse 47-48: Then imagine the time when these people will be disputing with one another in Hell. The weak ones will say to the haughty ones, “We were your followers! Now, can you save us from some part of our punishment in Hell?” The haughty ones will say, “We are all in the same state here, and Allah has already passed judgment between His servants.”

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 39 Surah Zumar verses 44: What! Have they taken besides Allah others as ‘shofa’a’ (intercessors)? Say to them, “Will they intercede even if they have no power whatever nor understanding?” Say, “Shafa’a is wholly in the Power of Allah Alone!”. His is the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verses 52-53: We have brought to these people a Book which gives details based on knowledge and which is a guidance and blessing for those who believe. Now, are these people waiting for anything other than the consequence of which they have been warned in the Book? When the consequence will come before them, those very people who aforetime had disregarded it, will say, “Indeed, the Messenger of our Lord had come with the Truth. Shall we have, then, any ‘shufaa’ who will intercede for us? Or could we be sent back that we might do deeds different from those we did before?” They have, indeed, incurred heavy loss upon themselves, and all the false things they had invented have forsaken them today.

 

And what if the Quran itself stated clearly that this 90 year old pontiff, his ancestors, his family, and all those graves put together cannot get you anything from Allah. Would that make you believe? Would that confirm to you that everything is in the sole power of Allah Subhanah Alone, and all these self-made pontiffs, and self-created deities have absolutely no power with Allah?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraf verses 197: Those whom you call besides Allah, cannot help you, nor can they help themselves.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 34 Surah Saba verses 22: (O Prophet) say, “Call on those whom you invoke as deities besides Allah. They neither own an atom’s weight of anything in the heavens, nor in the earth. Nor have they anything to share in either, nor is any of them a helper of Allah”

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verses 13: Then, instead of Allah, he invokes those who can do him neither harm nor good. This is the last extremity of deviation. He invokes those who are more likely to do him harm, than good! What an evil ‘maula’ he chooses, and what an evil companion.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 36 Surah Yaa Seen verses 74-75: Yet, they have set up others besides Allah, hoping that they would be helped! They (those invoked) do not have the power to help them, yet these people stand as an ever ready troop at their service!

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale Imran verses160: If Allah helps you, none can overcome you! And if Allah forsakes you, who is there, then, after Allah that can help you? Therefore, the true believers should trust in Allah Alone.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 22 Surah Hajj verse73: O mankind! A parable is related to you, so listen to it! Those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create a fly, even though they may all combine together for this purpose! Nay! If a fly snatches away anything from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly! How weak are the those who petition, and how weak are those to whom they supplicate!

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 5 Surah Maidah verse76: (O Prophet) say to them, “Do you worship besides Allah that which has no power to harm you nor benefit you? In fact, it is Allah Alone Who hears everything and knows everything.”

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 10 Surah Yunus verses 106-107: And do not call besides Allah, any being that can neither do you any good nor any harm. For if you will do so, you shall be one of the doers of wrong. If Allah afflicts you with a calamity, there is none to remove it, but He Himself. Likewise, if Allah wills to bestow a favor on you, there is none to withhold Allah’s bounty. He bestows His bounty on anyone of His servants He wills. And He is The Forgiving, The Merciful.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Surah Isra (Bani Israel) verses 56-57: (O Prophet) say, “You may call for help those, besides Allah, whom you fancy. They have neither the power to remove your troubles from you, nor change them!” In fact, those beings whom these people call for help themselves seek the means of approach to Allah, and vie with one another to be nearer to Him, and hope for His Mercy and fear His Wrath. The fact is that the Wrath of your Lord is a thing to be dreaded!

 

What if, contrary to what your 90 year old pontiff claims, that Allah will only answer your prayers and supplications if you go through some ‘pious’ slave of Allah; Allah Himself states in the Quran that He is quite near to the believers and they should invoke Him directly for all their needs! Would that not make the 90 year old pontiff a confirmed liar?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chater 40 Surah Mumin verse 60: And Your Lord says, “Call upon Me. I will answer your prayers. Those who disdain My worship on account of arrogance, shall certainly enter Hell in disgrace!”

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 13 Surah Raad verse 14: To Him Alone is prayer, in Truth! As regards the other beings whom they call besides Allah, they cannot answer their prayers. It is as if a man were to stretch out his hands towards water and ask it to rise to his mouth, when it cannot reach it! Likewise the prayers of the disbelievers are nothing but aimless efforts!

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 186: And if My servants ask you, O Prophet, concerning Me, tell them that I am quite near to them. I hear and answer the prayer of the suppliant, when he calls on Me. So let them respond to My call and believe in Me. (Convey this to them), perhaps they may be guided aright!

 

And what of all those names of the imams and martyrs that your 90 year old pontiff relates in his fiery speeches, and propagates that only by invoking and wailing over these noble souls can you attain the mercy of Allah! What if Allah Himself states that these people of the past have passed away, and we will never be questioned about them and their deeds in any way! Would that not make your 90 year old pontiff a liar?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 134: They were a people who passed away. They shall receive the reward of what they earned, and you shall have the reward of what you will earn. And you will not be questioned as to what they did.

 

Your 90 year old pontiff and his organization claim that the Quran can only be understood by them, and only through them can you achieve Allah’s Mercy. What if Allah states Himself that this Quran is a perfect, clear, plain and a direct guidance to mankind! Would that not make your 90 year old pontiff a confirmed liar?

 

Allah says in Chapter 2, Surah Baqarah aayat 185: "Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down: this Book is a perfect guidance for mankind and consists of CLEAR teachings which show the right way and are a Criterion of the Truth and falsehood."

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 44 Surah Dukhan verse 58: We have made this Book easy in your own tongue so that they may ponder and take good counsel.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 43 Surah Zukhruf verses 1-3: Haa Meem. By this lucid (clear or open) Book. We have made it an Arabic Quran, so that you may understand it.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 12 Surah Yusuf verse 1-2: These are the verses of the Book that makes its object perfectly clear. We have sent it down as a Quran in Arabic, so that you may understand it well.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah Nahl verse 89: We have sent down to you this Book, which makes everything plain, and is a guidance, blessing and good news to those who have surrendered themselves entirely.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 19 Surah Maryam verse 97: O Mohamed, We have made this Quran easy, and sent it down in your tongue so that you should give good news to the pious and warn the stubborn people.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah Kahf verse 1-3: All praise is for Allah Alone, Who has sent down this Book to His Servant (Mohamed (saws), and assigned nothing crooked to it. This Book says everything directly, so that he may warn the people of the severe chastisement of Allah and give good news to the believers, who do righteous deeds, that they will have an excellent reward.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 99: We have sent down to you Revelations that clearly expound the Truth, and none but the disobedient reject them.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 43 Surah Zukhruf verses 43-44: So, hold fast to the Book that has been revealed to you, you are surely on the Siraat al Mustaqeem. The fact is that this book is a great honor for you and your people, and soon you shall be CALLED TO ACCOUNT for it.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 7: (O Prophet) even if We had sent down to you a Book written on paper, and even if they had touched it with their own hands, the disbelievers would have said, “This is nothing but manifest sorcery!”.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 6 Surah Anaam verse 157-158: Now that a clear proof, a Guidance and Blessing, has come to you from your Lord, who can be more unjust than the one who treats Our Revelations as false and turns away from them? We will inflict the severest torment on those who turn away from Our Revelations because of their aversion. Do the people now await that the angels should come down before them? Or that your Lord may Himself come down? Or that the manifest Signs of your Lord should appear?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraaf verses 2-3: This is a Book which has been sent down to you. So, let there be no hesitation in your mind about it. This has been sent down that you may thereby warn (the disbelievers), and that it may be an Admonition to the believers. O people, follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow other ‘auliyaas’ besides Him. But you seldom take Admonition!

 

Your 90 year old pontiff claims that to understand the Quran, you must come to him or his ‘raza na saahibs’! He forbids you to try and understand the clear guidance of the Quran yourself, or through anyone else! Then he gathers you on every auspicious day, and instead of giving guidance from the Glorious Quran, relates to you fiery and emotional speeches from the History of the Muslims! Never does he give guidance from the Quran, neither does he allow anyone to make his ‘unsuspecting’ followers understand the Quran! He conceals the clear guidance of the Quran, and thus misguides the people away from the Straight Path of Islam! What if Allah Himself curses such people? Would you then believe?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Al-Baqarah verse 174: Indeed those, who conceal the commands that Allah has sent down in His Book and barter them away for paltry worldly gains, fill their bellies with fire. Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He regard them as pure and there is a painful torment for them!

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verse 159: Those who conceal the clear (Revelations) and Guidance We have sent down, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book, on them shall be Allah’s ‘laanah’ and the ‘laanah’ of those who are entitled to curse!

 

Your 90 year old pontiff does not propagate his version of Islam from the Quran! Never will you see a class conducted where they make you understand the Holy Quran from beginning to end…. They will quote one verse here, and one verse there… but never advocate their ‘blind’ followers to understand the Quran. Even the graduates of the Bohra university ‘Al Jamea tus Saifeeya’ have never gone through the whole Quran from beginning to the end with understanding! Would you not agree that anyone who does not give evidence for his beliefs on Islam from the Quran is a liar?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 28 Surah Qasas verse 86-88: You never hoped that the Book would be sent down to you. Only through your Lord’s Mercy (has it been sent down to you), therefore, do not be a helper of those whose who do not believe! And let it never happen that the unbelievers should divert you from Allah’s ‘aayahs’(Revelations) after they have been sent to you. Invite towards your Lord and do not join those who invoke others with Allah, nor invoke any deity other than Allah. There is no deity but He. Everything is perishable except Him! Sovereignty is His, and to Him will all of you be returned.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 41 Surah Ha Meem As Sajdah verses 4-5: Yet most of these people have turned away from it (The Quran), and they pay no heed. They say, “Our hearts are covered with veils from that to which you are calling us; our ears have become deaf; and between us and you there is a curtain, so do as you please, and we shall do as we will!”

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah Nahl verse 82: But if they turn away, your only responsibility is to convey the plain Message of Truth! They recognize the blessing of Allah, yet they deny it, for the majority of them are not inclined to accept the Truth!

 

Your 90 year old pontiff promises his ‘unsuspecting’ followers, that if they put all their belief in him and his institution (Whether it is from the Quran or not! Whether it makes sense or not!), he will make sure that you will enter Paradise! What if Allah Himself rejects such claims and relates the examples of such ‘blind’ followers in the Glorious Quran? Would you then believe that your 90 year old pontiff is a liar?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraf verse 190-196: They associate with Allah partners who do not create anything, but are themselves created! Who cannot help them nor have the power to help themselves! If you invite them to follow the Right Way, they will not follow you! It will be all the same for you whether you call them or keep silent. Those whom you invoke with Allah are MERE SERVANTS OF ALLAH LIKE YOU! Just invoke them, and if what you say of them be true, they will answer your prayers! Have they feet that they should walk with them? Or have they hands that they should hold with them? Or have they eyes that they should see with them? Or have they ears that they should hear with them? Tell them, O Mohammed, “Call up the partners you have set up, and then all of you sit down together and plot against me, and give me no respite. My Protector and Helper is Allah, Who has sent down this Book (Al Quran), and, it is He who protects the righteous people.”

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 33 Surah Ahzab verse 66-68: On the Day their faces are rolled about on the Fire, they will say, “Would that we had obeyed Allah and His Messenger!” And they will say, “O our Lord, we obeyed our CHIEFS and our GREAT MEN, and they led us astray from the Right Path. O our Lord, give them a double chastisement and curse them severely”.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 19 Surah Maryam verses 81-82: These people have set up other gods than Allah, so that they may become their supporters! There will be no supporters! They will not only disown your worship, but also become their opponents.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter16 Surah Nahl verses 86-87: When the people who had committed shirk in this world will see those whom they had made associates with Allah, they will say, “Our Lord, here are those associate-deities whom we used to invoke besides You.” At this their deities will retort, “You are liars!” At that time, all of them will proffer submission before Allah, and all that they used to forge in this world shall vanish from them.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 25 Surah Furqan verses 17-19: And on that Day, (Your Lord) will gather all these people together as well as those whom they used to invoke besides Allah and ask them, “Did you mislead these servants of Mine, or did they themselves go astray?” Those associate-deities will answer, “Glory be to You! We dared not take any ‘auliya’ besides You. You did give them and their forefathers all the good things of life till they forgot the Admonition, and incurred the punishment.” Thus will your deities deny all that you are professing today! Then you shall neither be able to repel your punishment, nor shall you be able to get any help from anywhere. And whoever is guilty of iniquity among you, We shall make him taste a severe torment!

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 9 Surah Taubah verse 31: They have made their scholars and their monks as their Rabbs besides Allah!

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 10 Surah Yunus verse 66: Note it well that all the dwellers of the heavens and the earth belong to Allah. And those who invoke partners besides Allah, follow nothing but surmises and merely indulge in guess-works!

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 11 Surah Hud verses 18-24: And who can be more unjust than the one who ascribes false things to Allah? Such persons shall be brought before their Lord and the witnesses will say, “These are the people who ascribed false things to their Lord.” Beware! Allah’s curse rests upon the unjust people! Who debar others from Allah’s Way, and seek to make it crooked, and who disbelieve in the Hereafter. They were unable to frustrate Allah on the earth, nor had they ‘auliyaas’ to defend them against Allah. Now they shall be given double chastisement for they would neither listen to others nor see the Truth for themselves. These are the people who brought about their own loss and all that they had invented vanished from them. No doubt they shall be the greatest losers in the Hereafter. As regards those who believed and did righteous deeds and dedicated themselves exclusively to their Lord, most surely they shall be dwellers of Paradise, and shall abide therein for ever. These two groups may be likened to two men, one of whom is blind and deaf, and the other can see and hear! Can they be alike and equal? Do you not ponder?

 

My beloved brother, just try to understand this clear aayah of the Glorious Quran and decide for yourself what path you should be taking to obtain the Mercy and Forgiveness of your Lord.

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 18 Surah Kahf verses 103-106: Tell them (O Mohamed), “Should We tell you who are the most unsuccessful people and miserable failures in regard to their deeds? They are those, all whose endeavors in the worldly life, had gone astray from the Right Way, but all along they were under the delusion that everything they were doing, was rightly directed! Those are the people who rejected the Revelations of their Lord and did not believe that they would ever go before Him. Therefore all their deeds were lost, for We shall assign no weight to them on the Day of Resurrection. Their recompense is Hell for the disbelief they showed, and for the mockery they adopted in regard to My Aayahs and My Messengers!”

 

Brother, we can give you evidence upon evidence from the Holy Quran that your 90 year old pontiff is a liar and denier of the Truth! Now how about you giving us some evidence from the Glorious Quran that he (and his family) are indeed the appointed people whom we have to believe, obey, follow, invoke, bow down in sajdah, kiss their feet and soles in submission, and make their graves a shrine of invocation and worship?

 

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 27 Surah Al Naml verse 64: Bring forth your evidence, if indeed what you say is the Truth!

 

And if you cannot produce the evidence from the Holy Quran, bear witness that what your 90 year old pontiff propagates has nothing to do with the Quran and therefore Islam!

 

And my dear brother, if you cannot answer our challenge yourself, we urge you to take our article to your 90 year old pontiff, or his family, or any scholar of your choice, and see for yourself if they have the answers to our questions.

We hope the wait has not been too long. But if any of the ‘suspecting’ believers wait until the appointment of death to understand and confirm the Truth of the guidance of the Glorious Quran, it will definitely be too late!

 

May Allah guide you and us all to read, understand, and implement the Glorious Quran in our lives. May Allah take us away from the invocation and worship of all Personalities, human beings, graves, and names, and unite us all to worship the One Lord Allah Alone! Ameen.
