Female broadcasters and daa’iyahs on Islamic channels pluck their eyebrows. Does this mean that what they do is permissible?
Firstly:
It is not permissible for a woman to uncover any part of her body in front of non-mahram men. That includes the face and hands, as has been explained in the answer to question no. 11774.
The prohibition is stricter if she has applied cosmetics and adornments so that she can be seen by men in that state. For more information please see the answer to question no. 111839.
Secondly:
With regard to plucking the eyebrows, it is proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) cursed the one who does that, which indicates that it is a major sin.
See the answer to question no. 2162.
After the ruling becomes clear from the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who did not speak on the basis of his own whims and desires, rather it was revelation that was revealed to him, what the Muslim must do is follow him, and avoid that which angers Allaah and brings down His curse upon a person. Each person is accountable for himself.
As for these broadcasters and others, we ask Allaah to guide them to the right path, and to make them a good example for other women.

And Allaah knows best.
