Quran is the creation or word of Allah

One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
I have heard people saying that Quran is Makhlooq of
Allah and not book. They also say that each and every word of Quran is a living
thing that is protecting us from the evil. Is this true and if not please refer
me to the verses and hadith regarding this.

Answer:
Quran is the
creation or word of Allah
In the name of Allah,
We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah
guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide
them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah
Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the
seal of His Messengers.
In the 9th Century or
almost 250 years after the death of the Prophet (saws), a huge ‘fitnah’ rose
amongst the muslims called the ‘Mutazilah’ wherein the rulers of the muslims tried to enforce their false ‘official’ belief
that the Glorious Quran was the ‘Creation’ rather than the ‘Word’ of Allah
Subhanah! This ‘fitnah’ took such an
evil turn that anyone who went against
or challenged the ‘official’ (but false) belief of the times was severely
punished and tortured by the royal court….so much so that history has recorded
that a scholar of the stature of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal was put in prison for 28
years and severely tortured only for abiding by the Truth that the Glorious
Quran is indeed the ‘Word’ and not the ‘Creation’ of Allah Subhanah!
Without an iota of a doubt, the
Glorious Quran is indeed the Word and the Book sent by Allah Subhanah.
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me alone. Allah Alone
Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
