Answer:

Why and when women stopped praying Eid

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Your Question: ….Further I would like to ask why this practice of women not going Eidgah got stopped.

Respected sister in Islam, we would like to assure you that the Sunnah and the practice of the believers (men, women and children) attending the Eid prayers in the dedicated Eid-gahs is prevalent in almost all the places where the believers reside all across the earth! In almost all the nations where the believers are in the majority, the authorities have dedicated Eid-gahs where the believers attend the Eid prayers, and in nations where the believers are not in the majority or there are no specified Eid-gahs, the believers assemble in an open area, or parks, or the masaajids of Allah Subhanah and perform the Eid prayers in congregation.

Since the time the Prophet Mohamed (saws) declared the Eid prayers obligatory unto the believing men, women and children, the believers have attended the Eid prayers, and this Sunnah has never been stopped.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
