Eating fruits to have pious child.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Salamu-alykum brother,
I heard a hadith when i was
younger about the prophet Mohammad (SAW) eating some three fruits (pear,
watermelon and apple or pineapple I think) before being with one of his wives,
not sure whther it was Khadija or Aisha. Cant remember the details but i was
told that if you have those fruits before you be with your husband you ll have
pious kids or good kids, please could you remind me of the full and true hadith
if it does exist? I read it somewhere when i was a kid and cant seem to be able
to verify its authenticity as i cant remember the details.
Thank you.

Answer:
Eating fruits to
have pious child
In the name of Allah,
We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah
guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide
them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah
Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the
seal of His Messengers.
To the best of our knowledge
there is absolutely nothing in the authentic and established records of hadiths
which state that the eating of some fruits (or anything else!) before one
conjugates results in the birth of pious or righteous offsprings!!!7
But there is indeed a dua or
supplication taught by the Prophet (saws) which if one recites, Allah Subhanah
will protect the off-spring from the Shaytaan.
Sahih Al-Bukhari
Hadith 4.493 Narrated by Ibn Abbas
The Prophet (saws)
said, "If anyone of you, when having sexual relation with his wife, says:
'Bismillah. Allah humma jannib
nas-Shaytaan wa jannib nas-Shaytaana feema razaktana’ (In the name of Allah. O
Allah! Protect us from the Shaytaan and prevent the Shaytaan from approaching
our offspring You (may) bestow us) and if he begets a child (as a result of
that relation) Shaytaan will not (be able to) harm it."
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me alone. Allah Alone
Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
