One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Were Kholofa-e-Rashedeen appointed by Allah or Rasul-Allah or by Muslemeen human being?

Answer:

Who appointed kholafa rashideen rightly guided khalifahs?

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

The only people appointed by Allah Subhanah directly are His Prophets! The Prophets of Allah are the only human beings who can come to mankind and declare that they have been appointed by Allah Subhanah as His Messengers. No other person, no saint, no imam, no leader, no peer, no Khalifah, etc., absolutely no one other than the Prophets of Allah Subhanah can come to mankind and declare that they have been appointed so and so by Allah Subhanah!

It is a condition of faith, that when the Prophets of Allah come to mankind and declare themselves as His Messengers, the people must believe in them and their Message unconditionally! Only Allah and His Messenger (saws) have a right to be believed unconditionally; every one else will be believed only if their order is absolutely in alignment with the guidance of Allah and His Messenger.

The Kholafah Rashedeen were appointed neither by Allah Subhanah, nor by the Prophet of Allah (saws); but they were chosen as the ‘Ameer’ or leader by human beings; albeit by some of the best human beings who ever walked on this planet earth: the noble companions of the Messenger of Allah (saws)!

It was imperative on the Kholafah Rashedeen (The Rightly Guided Khalifahs) that they followed and obeyed the Quran and Sunnah unconditionally, and lead the believers in absolute accordance of the Quran and Sunnah.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
