Respected Brother/Sister,

We are in the process of constructing our house. We were planning to have a attached bathroom (Toilet & Bathroom), however someone informed us that there should never be attach bathroom in the house. It should be seperate always. Is this true.

Answer:

Attached toilet and bathroom

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

To the best of our knowledge we have not come across any Guidance in the Glorious Quran or the authentic and established Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws) which prohibits the believers to build or live in a house which has an attached bathroom.

The person who claims that it is prohibited in Islam for the believers to build or live in a house which has an attached bathroom should be asked to provide evidence for the prohibition from the Quran and the Sunnah.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
