Mu' meneen Brothers

As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be

One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Salam Aleykum,
My son is nearly 6
moths old and I would like to have him circumsized. The problem is we live in
Holland a non-muslim country as you probably know.I was wondering if it needs
to be done by a muslim person what is the perfect age to do it?What is the
perfect day does the person doing it have to say anything like a doea or
something?I wish you can answer my question as soon as possible.
salam aleykum

Answer:
Circumcision of Non-Muslim
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no
prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
There
is no particular day, or time, or age,
or a specific dua for doing circumcision. One may do it at any age one wishes, and although it is best done today soon after the birth of the
child, it can be done at any age
preferably before puberty. There is
absolutely no condition that the doctor doing the circumcision has to be a
believer; any qualified doctor may do
it.
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows
Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in
Islam,
Burhan
