Answer:
Eat onions at night
lawful
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
The vegetable onion in its essence is absolutely lawful
for the believers to consume as food, regardless of whether they wish or choose
to consume it during the day or the night. What is discouraged and prohibited is
that if one eats raw or uncooked onions, one should not approach the masjids of
Allah until they have thoroughly cleansed their breath, because its vile odor
is repugnant not only to humans but also to the noble Angels of Allah Subhanah.
Jabir reports that the Prophet (saws) said:
"Whoever eats garlic, onion, or leek should not come close to our masjid
for the Angels are harmed by what harms the children of Adam."

Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 3818 Narrated byMu'awiyah ibn Qurrah
The Messenger of Allah (saws) disliked these
two plants (i.e. garlic and onions), and he (saws) said: ‘He who eats them
should not come near our masjid. If it is necessary to eat them, make them
(their odor) dead by cooking them.’
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 1.814 Narrated by Jabir bin Abdullah
The Prophet (saws) said, "Whoever eats
garlic or onion should keep away from our masjid." Jabir bin 'Abdullah
(r.a.) said, "Once a big pot containing cooked vegetables was brought. On
finding unpleasant smell coming from it, the Prophet (saws) asked, 'What is in
it?' He (saws) was told all the names of the vegetables that were in it. The
Prophet (saws) ordered that it should be brought near to some of his companions
who were with him. When the Prophet saw it he disliked to eat it and said to
his companions, '(You may) Eat. (I don't eat it) for I converse with those whom
you don't converse with (i.e. the Angels).'")
