ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM

Brother i have forwarded one hadees .please do clarify what it means by this hadees like folding of cloth and hairs. ur response will be highly appreciated

The below is the Hadith from sahih Muslim , Kitaab Al Salaat Book 4, i did not understand what they mean by forbidden to fold clothing .

pls clarify. 

Sahih Muslim Book 4, Number 0991:

Ibn 'Abbas reported: The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) had been commanded that he should prostrate on the seven (bones) and he was forbidden to fold back the hair and clothing. And in the narration transmitted by Abu Rabi' (the words are): "on the seven bones and I was forbidden to fold back the hair and clothing". According to Abu'l-Rabi' (the seven bones are): The hands, the knees, and the (extremities) of the feet and the forehead.

Sahih Muslim Book 4, Number 0996:

Abdullah b. Abbas reported that he saw 'Abdullah b. al-Harith observing the prayer and (his hair) was plaited behind his head. He ('Abdullah b. 'Abbas) stood up and unfolded them. While going back (from the prayer) he met Ibn 'Abbas and said to him: Why is it that you touched my head? He (Ibn 'Abbas) replied: (The man who observes prayer with plaited hair) is like one who prays with his hands tied behind.

Fold hair and clothing hadith

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Ref: prohibition of folding clothes while in the state of prayer.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) forbade the believers to fold their clothes while in the state of prayer….say for example one is wearing a long-sleeve shirt and folds his sleeves above his elbows in order to perform the ‘wudu’ in preparation for prayer; such a person should unfold his sleeves back to their normal station before he starts his prayers.

Ref: prohibition of folding hair while in the state of prayer.

It is also forbidden for the believing males who adorns long hair to fold or tie their hair while they are in the state of prayer.
