Can one stop wind to finish prayer?
Mu' meneen Brothers
and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be

One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Assalamu Alaikkum
WRWB.
Suppose my stomach sounds to release the wind. Can I
wantedly stop the releasing of wind when I am in prayer ? Is my prayer an
acceptable one ? Please clear my doubt.

Answer:
Can one stop wind to finish prayer?
In the name of Allah, We praise
Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none
can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.
We bear witness that there is no one (no idol,
no person, no grave, no
prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
The sound of the stomach alone
does not break the wudu or the prayer of a person, unless and until he actually releases the wind.
If one cannot control, or is uncomfortable while holding his wind
being released, and as a result cannot
concentrate on his prayers; he must
leave his prayers, release his
wind, do wudu again, and then perform the prayers again.
But if one can easily control
his wind being released, and is in no
discomfort whatsoever, and is able to
concentrate on his prayers; there is
no harm if he holds his wind until he finishes his prayers.
Whatever written of Truth and
benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error
is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He
is the Only Source of Strength.

Islam,
Burhan
