Beating drums duff tamborine.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
A
question about Daff was asked "Are nasheeds with drums (daff)
allowed?" and answered "Prophet s.a.w decleared every wine,
gambling, beating of the drums and every intoxicant as haraam (Abu
Dawud)."
Kindly
confirm if the beating of drums is prohibited in Islam.

Answer:
Beating drums duff
tamborine
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness
that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3153 Narrated by Muhammad ibn Hatib al-Jumahi
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said,
"The distinction between what is lawful and what is unlawful is the song
and the tambourine (daff) at a wedding."
Every musical instrument, regardless of whether it be a
wind or a string instrument….every musical instrument is declared unlawful by
the Messenger of Allah (saws) except the ‘daff’ (tambourine).
In light of the above absolutely clear guidance of the
Messenger of Allah (saws) the beating of drums as a musical instrument would be
deemed absolutely unlawful in Islam.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
