Answer:
Can dua change death
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 3 Surah Ale
Imran verse 145:
145 Nor can a soul die except by Allah's
leave; the term being fixed as by Decree.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 63 Surah
Munafeqoon verse 11:
11 But to no soul will Allah grant respite when the time appointed (for
its death) has come: and Allah is well-acquainted with (all) that ye do.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 7 Surah Aaraf
verse 34:
34 To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached not
an hour (moment) can they cause delay, nor (a moment) can they advance it!
Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.430 Narrated by Abdullah bin Musud
Allah's Messenger (saws)said, "(The
matter of the Creation of) a human being is put together in the womb of the
mother in forty days, and then he becomes a clot of thick blood for a similar
period, and then a piece of flesh for a similar period. Then Allah sends an
Angel who is ordered to record four things. He is ordered to write down his
(i.e. the new creature's) deeds, his livelihood, his (exact time, place
and date of) death, and whether he will be blessed or wretched (in
religion). Then the soul is breathed into him.”
The amount of time each and every individual will live to
give his test on this earth is Decreed by none other than the Lord Himself;
even before the soul is entered into the bodies of the unborn when it is still
in its mothers womb.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 6 Surah
Anaam verse 61:
61 He (Allah Subhanah) is The Irresistible (Watching) from above over
his worshippers and He sets guardians (Angels) over you. At length when death approaches one of you, Our
Angels take his soul (at the exact appointed time and place), and they never
fail in their duty!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah
Nisaa verse 78:
78 "Whersoever ye are, death will find you out (at its exact
Decreed time); even if ye are in towers built up strong
and high!"
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 32 Surah
As-Sajdah verse 11:
11 Say: "The Angel of Death put in charge of you will
(duely) take your souls (at the Decreed time and place): then shall ye
be brought back to your Lord."
Your
Question: I would like to ask ,whether death can be halt due to dua's
Respected Sister in Islam, in light of the above
absolutely clear guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah, it is evident that the
time of each individual’s death is Decreed by Allah Subhanah….and there is no
one and no thing which has the power to change the Decrees of Allah Subhanah.
Your
Question: for eg. a person is driving and met with an accident and did not die
due to the prayers of some one" , is it true that prayers will postpone
death,
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 57 Surah
Hadid verses 22-23:
22 No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is
recorded in a Decree before We bring it into existence! That is truly
easy for Allah:
23 In order that ye may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor
exult over favors bestowed upon you. For
Allah Loves not any vainglorious boaster
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 6 Surah
Anaam verse 59:
59 With Him (Allah) are the keys of the Unseen the treasures that none
knoweth but He. He knoweth whatever
there is on the earth and in the sea. Not a leaf doth fall but with His
Knowledge: there is not a grain in the darkness (or depths) of the earth nor
anything fresh or dry, but is (inscribed) in a Record Clear.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 22 Surah
Hajj verse 70:
70 Knowest thou not that Allah knows all that is in heaven and on
earth? Indeed it is all in a Record, and that is easy for Allah.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chatper 34 Surah
Saba verse 3:
3 The Unbelievers say "Never to us will come the hour". Say
"Nay! But most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you by Him Who knows
the unseen; from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the heavens or on
earth: nor is there anything less than that or greater, but is (Decreed) in the
Record Perspicuous.
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 94 Narrated by Ubadah ibn as-Samit
Allah's Messenger (saws) said: ‘The first
thing which Allah created was the Pen. He commanded it to write. It asked:
‘What should I write?’ He said:’ Write the Decree (al-Qadr).’ So it wrote what had happened and what was
going to happen up to eternity.
Fate or Destiny (Al-Qadr) is
nothing more than the documentation of the Absolute and Perfect Knowledge of
The Lord All-Mighty which He Commanded to be written and preserved even before
the creation of anything in the Heavens and the earth; thus the ‘Qadr’ itself
cannot be changed or altered in the least.
In response to your example: if
the person met with an accident and did not die, it was not because of the dua
or supplication of someone….but because the death of that individual at this
particular time was not Decreed by Allah Subhanah!
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
