Answer:

Good and bad luck

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

There is absolutely no truth in the statement that all wealth is from wife’s luck, and all children from husband’s luck! In fact, there is absolutely no concept of good or bad luck in Islam! Everything, absolutely everything, that happens in this Universe happens with the Permission of the One Who is All Mighty, All Wise, and All Knowing.

The distribution of wealth depends on the Will of Allah Subhanah; He gives in abundance to whomever He Pleases, and He gives in limited measure to whomever He Wills! No wife, or no husband, or no luck, has anything to do with the distribution of wealth by Allah Subhanah.

Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 43 Surah Zukhruf verse 32: Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of thy Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in the life of this world: and We raise some of them above others in ranks so that some may command work from others. But the Mercy of thy Lord is better than the (wealth) which they amass.

Same is the case in regards to children: Allah Subhanah gives children to whomever He Wills, gives boys to whomever He Wills, gives girls to whomever He wills, and withholds the birth of children from whomever He Wills! Everything, absolutely everything, is in the Absolute and Sole Control of Allah Subhanah Alone!

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 42 Surah Shuraa verses 49-50:

49 To Allah belongs the Dominion of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills (and plans). He bestows (children) male or female according to His Will (and Plan).

50 Or He bestows both males and females, and He leaves barren whom He will: for He is Full of knowledge and power.

When Allah Wills to show Mercy to any of His slaves, nothing can withhold that Mercy! And if Allah Wills to put some calamity on someone, no power in the Universe can remove that calamity except Him! There is absolutely no concept of good luck or bad luck in Islam. Everything that happens in the Universe happens with the Permission and within the Plan of Allah Subhanah.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your Brother in Islam,

Burhan
