In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

To the best of our knowledge, the text of the Glorious Quran has been translated into almost every single major and even regional languages spoken in the world today…..

Your Question: ….Is there a Standard design of Mosque?

There are some obvious ‘standard design’ or basic criteria which would need to be fulfilled by one intending to build a masjid….like the ‘mehrab’ should be in the direction of the Qibla, there should be place or arrangements made for the worshippers to be able to stand and sit in rows while in their prayers, etc.

But if your question pertains to a ‘standard design’ of the outward structure or outside appearance of a masjid, there is no such criteria or ‘standard design’ which needs to be followed when building a masjid.

A ‘masjid’ can be as simple and as basic as the one the Noble Prophet of Allah (saws) initiated at his mosque in Madinah where a flat ground was basically covered with the shade of date-palm leaves……or it can be as complex and ‘hi-tech’ as the current ‘two holy masjids’ in Makkah and Madinah…..provided the place serves its purpose for the believers to gather and remember and worship their Lord, the outward appearance or structure of the ‘masjid’ is absolutely immaterial.

Again, as long as the place being built serves to fulfill the purpose of the believers doing their ablution, there is absolutely no restriction or ‘standard design’ or criteria in Islam which needs to be followed when making the ‘wudhu-khaana’ or place of ablution.
