I would like to know the meaning of the following names:
1) Sheema
2) Anas
3) Aiman
4) Afnan
5) Amaan
6) Salem

Answer:

Meaning of Names Various

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Sheema: was the assigned name of the foster-sister of the Noble Prophet (saws), daughter of Haleemah (the foster-mother of the Prophet (saws))….to the best of our knowledge the term ‘Sheema’ does have a particular or specific meaning in the Arabic language.

Anas: literally means love or affection; and was the assigned name of one of the noblest companions of the Prophet (saws), Hadrat Anas ibn Maalik (r.a.), who was blessed to serve the Prophet (saws) in his house for a period of ten years.

Aiman: literally means one who is fearless.

Afnan: one of the names of Paradise.

Amaan: If ‘Aman’ then it would mean peace; and if ‘Amaan’ then it would mean the most loveable.

Salem: one who is sound and secure or in peace or peaceful.
