Why Mahdi not mentioned in Quran.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

was the mahdi not mentioned in the Quoran

Answer:
Why Mahdi not
mentioned in Quran
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness
that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah
Baqarah verse 185:
Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent
down: this Book is a Perfect Guidance for mankind and consists of clear
Teachings which show the
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 16 Surah
Nahl verse 89:
We have sent down to you this Book, which makes
everything plain, and is a
guidance, blessing and good news to
those who have surrendered themselves entirely.
The mission of the Last Revelation of the Lord Most
Merciful is to present the Straight Path of the Lord Creator (Siraat
ul-Mustaqeem) in the most perfect manner, so that it may act as a guide to the
Straight Path for all mankind.
Although Allah Subhanah relates many a passage amongst the
history of mankind, many a scientific phenomena of nature, many a Sign of the
creation of the universe, and many a prophecy of the times to come…..the mission
of the Glorious Book of the Lord is not to list these passages of history, or
the wonders of science, or list the details or the times to come…..but the one
and only mission for the Revelation of the Glorious Quran is to guide all
amongst mankind who fear their Lord, to the Straight Path that leads to His
Mercy and Forgiveness.
Leave alone the mentioning of the coming of the promised
‘Mahdi (a.s.)’, the Glorious Quran is almost silent regarding the prophecy of
the second coming of one of the Noblest and Mightiest Messengers of Allah,
Hadrat Isa ibn Maryam (a.s.)….or regarding the prophecy of the coming of the
ultimate trial any would ever face; the advent and reign of the evil
‘Ad-Dajjal’!!!!
Although the Holy Quran is
silent on this issue, there are several
authentic hadiths where the Messenger of Allah (saws) has prophesized the
advent of a Righteous Ruler near the end of time, who will unite the believers and rule the
world according to the guidance of the Quran and Sunnah. If we combine the hadiths, they reveal that this righteous person will
be from amongst the descendants of the Prophet (saws), and his name will be similar to the Last
Messenger of Allah (saws) and he will be known as Al-Mahdi or the Rightly
Guided. The scholars have opined that
his name will be either Mohamed ibn Abdulla, or Abdulla ibn Mohamed. The era of the anti-Christ and Liar
Ad-Dajjal, and the descent of Prophet
Isa (a.s.) from the heavens, will also take place during the time of Imam Mahdi
(a.s.).
We absolutely and positively
believe in the advent of this Righteous Ruler near the end of time called Imam
Mahdi (a.s.); because the Prophet of
Allah (saws) told the believers about his coming and reign…..and Allah is our witness
brother, the Prophet Mohamed (saws) spoke naught of his own desire but related
in Truth whatever he received by inspiration from his Lord Most Majestic, Most
Supreme!
There are several hadiths
recorded regarding the era of Imam Mahdi (a.s.), as narrated from the Messenger
of Allah (saws). Here are some of them:
Sunan of Abu-Dawood
Hadith 4272 Narrated by AbuSa'id
al-Khudri
The Prophet (peace
be upon him) said: The Mahdi will be of my stock, and will have a broad
forehead a prominent nose. He will fill the earth with equity and justice as it
was filled with oppression and tyranny, and he will rule for seven years.
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith
5455 Narrated by AbuSa'id al-Khudri
The Prophet (peace
be upon him) said in the course of the story about the Mahdi, that a man would
come to him and say, "Give me, give me, Mahdi," and he would pour
into his garment as much as he was able to carry.
Tirmidhi
transmitted it.
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith
6278 Narrated by Ja'far as-Sadiq
Allah's Messenger
(peace be upon him) said, "Rejoice and rejoice again. My people are just
like the rain, it not being known whether the last or the first of it is
better; or it is like a garden from which a troop can be fed for a year, then
another troop can be fed for a year, and perhaps the last troop which comes may
be the broadest, deepest and finest. How can a people perish of which I am the
first, the Mahdi the middle and the Messiah the last? But in the course of that
there will be a crooked party which does not belong to me and to which I do not
belong."
Razin transmitted
it.
Sunan of Abu-Dawood
Hadith 4271 Narrated by Umm Salamah,
Ummul Mu'minin
The Prophet (peace
be upon him) said: The Mahdi will be of my family, of the descendants of
Fatimah.
The current situation and
position of the believers must be to strive to obey each and every command of
Allah and His Messenger (saws), and
strive to make The Word of Allah Supreme in the world. Imam Mahdi will come
exactly at the time Allah has Decreed, and the events will unfold exactly as
prophesized by the Messenger of Allah (saws).
Allah has not made it our duty to search for the Mahdi; he will come
when he comes. The
honest truth is brother, the coming of the ‘Mahdi’ is really not as important
or significant as some amongst the believers might like to believe!
On the Day of Judgment, Allah
Subhanah will judge us according to our deeds;
neither will Allah question us why we did not appoint a Mahdi, nor will He ask us why we did not wait for
Mahdi’s coming! Thus, instead of waiting for Imam Mahdi to
come and put things aright in this world; we must strive to do whatever we can
to be better muslims, and declare the
Message of Allah to all those who care to listen to good caution.
And besides, Imam Mahdi is not a
Prophet of Allah, but is a righteous slave of Allah Subhanah. He will not come to mankind and declare that
he is the Mahdi, like a Prophet of Allah comes to mankind and declares his
appointment to Prophethood. Imam Mahdi
(a.s.) will be a political and religious leader of the believers, and from his actions of piety, righteousness,
justice, and conformity to the Quran and the Sunnah, the believers will
recognize him to be the promised Mahdi.
The biggest irony of the whole
situation is that the very people who today are desperately searching or
waiting for the Mahdi to come and put things right for them in the Muslim Ummah
will probably be the first to reject and deny him!! It is the established Sunnah or Way of the
Lord All-Wise that He takes one who is considered amongst the lowest and
humblest in the sight of man, and raises the stature and rank of that person
beyond compare…..examples, amongst others, being that of the Prophet Noah
(a.s.), Prophet Ibraheem (a.s.), Prophet Musa (a.s.), Prophet Isa (a.s.), and
of course the Last and Final Messenger of Allah, Prophet Mohamed (saws)!!!
Could any of the chiefs or
people of the times even ever imagine that a poor, destitute orphan who had
absolutely no standing in the land could be raised to the ultimate office of
Prophethood….or that he (saws) would bring about a mission and a nation by the
Will and Mercy of his Lord that would last till the end of time???
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 43 Surah
Zukhruf verses 30-32:
30 But when the Truth (The Prophet Mohamed (saws) and the Quran) came
to them, they (the chiefs of Makkah) said: "This is sorcery and We do
reject it."
31 Also they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some
leading man in either of the two (chief) cities (Makkah and Taif)?"
32 Is it they who would portion out the Mercy of thy Lord? It is We Who portion out between them their livelihood in the life
of this world: and We raise some of them above others in ranks so that some may
command work from others. But the Mercy
of thy Lord is better than the (wealth) which they amass.
One may assume today (at their
own peril I might add) that the Promised Imam Mahdi (a.s.) will probably be one
amongst the recognized ‘sheikhs’ or ‘priests’ of Saudi Arabia ……but as is the
established Sunnah or Way of Allah, the Lord All-Knowing, All-Wise might, if He
so Wills, raise and guide an absolutely common man of extremely humble
beginnings to the rank of Mahdi!!!! Can
one even imagine the state of the wrath and rejection some amongst these
established ‘sheikhs’ and ‘scholars’ might bring upon the Mahdi who happens to
be a poor and humble Bengali brother, or a Filipino, or an Indonesian, or a
Sudanese, or a Chinese!!!! The very
people who desperately await the advent of the Mahdi today will probably be the
first to reject him….as was the case with Pharaoh and his chiefs with the
appointment of Musa (a.s.) as the Prophet of Allah, or was the case of the
Jewish Rabbis and Scholars with the appointment of Isa ibn Maryam (a.s.) as the
Messenger of Allah….or was the case of the Arab chiefs with the appointment of
Mohamed ibn Abdullah (saws) as the Last and Final Messenger of Allah!!!!
Beloved brother in Islam, rest
absolutely assured that the Promised Mahdi will come upon this earth when Allah
Subhanah will Ordain and Decree for him to come….for that is exactly what the
Noble Prophet Mohamed (saws) prophecised in Truth. It is not the stated duty and responsibility
of the believers to wait, or search, or appoint a Mahdi….but our stated duty is
to worship our Lord Creator, submit our wills unto Him, and strive our utmost
to make His Word Supreme in this world.
On that Inevitable and
Tumultuous Day of Judgment, the Lord Most Majestic will not ask the believers
of today why they did not wait, or search or appoint a Mahdi amongst
themselves….but without an iota of a doubt, what He Will account for is whether
or not we obeyed and followed the Guidance He sent with His Last and Final
Messenger (saws) or not!!!
Whatever written of
Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever
of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows
Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your brother and
well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
