How to show gratitude.
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
(May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
Assalamo
Alaikum
May Allah bless you for doing the work that you do.
I have asked you many questions in the past and have always received more than
satisfactory answers.
Recently, i have been blessed with something from Allah which I have been
asking for, for a very long time. I am very happy and am more grateful to Allah
than i could ever express in words. What i wanted to ask was, other than nafl
prayers, is there anything i can do to show my gratitude?
Besides this, i just want to say to those people who say my supplications
aren`t answered; don`t say that! I know it can sometimes take sometime and it
is even possible that you dont get exactly what you ask for, but trust me
people, Allah knows best. He knows everything. Put your faith and trust in
Allah. You wont be dissapointed; i can assure you.
Thank you

Answer:
How to show
gratitude
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His
help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide,
and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear
witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear
witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His
Messengers.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 27 Surah
Naml verse 40:
40 …… Then when (Prophet Sulaimaan (a.s.)) saw it (the throne) placed
firmly before him he said: "This is by the grace of my Lord; to test me
whether I am grateful or ungrateful! And if any is grateful truly his gratitude
is for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful, truly my Lord is Free of All
Needs Supreme in Honor!"
It is but a sign and an extension and a condition of one’s
true faith in their Lord Most Gracious, that whenever they are blessed with a
favor, one recognizes that the favor is a Mercy from unto their Lord, and they
turn unto Him in gratitude. Other than
the offering of worship like ‘nafl’ prayers and observing fasts, one of the
best ways to extend one’s gratitude unto their Lord is to spend abundantly in
the Cause of the Lord Most Gracious.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only
due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me
alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is
the Only Source of Strength.
