Assalm-o-Alaikum,

Inamed my Son Ryan(Gate of heaven where only Rozaydar can enter)but most people says its wrong and the spelling should be Raiyaan.plz.let me know which is correct spelling and what to call him Ryan or Raiyaan?

Meaning name ruyyan

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Beloved Sister, it is almost impossible to obtain the exact pronunciation when a term is transliterated from one language to another. In our humble opinion the closest spelling and pronunciation would be ‘Ruyyan’ or ‘Raiyyan’, and it is a perfectly acceptable name in Islam.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
