Answer:

Who wrote the revelations kaatib al wahi

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Not every companion of the Noble Messenger of Allah (saws) was literate or knew how to read and write, but there were only some who were literate and knew how to read and write. Secondly, it is not that the Messenger of Allah (saws) had appointed a few specific companions who alone were the ‘kaatib al-wahi’ (writers of the Revelations), but whoever was literate and was present with the Messenger of Allah (saws) when the Revelations were sent to the Prophet’s heart, or was the first to come in contact with the Prophet (saws) after the Revelations were revealed, the Messenger of Allah (saws) would recite the Revelations just revealed to him and command one amongst them to document it.

Amongst the famous companions who were literate and documented the ‘Revelations’ were:

Hadrat Abu Bakr as-Siddq (r.a.)

Hadrat Umar ibn Khattab (r.a.)

Hadrat Uthmaan bin Affan (r.a.)

Hadrat Ali ibn Ali Taalib (r.a.)

Hadrat Zaid ibn Thabit (r.a.)

Hadrat Ubayy ibn Kaab (r.a.)

Etc.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
