One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

DEAR BURHAN ASSALAAM O ALIKUM WR WB,

I WANT TO KNOW THAT IN RAMDAN IN ONE OF OUR MOSQUE IN "QIAM UL LAIL" IMAM

READ THE QURAN WITH DIFFERENT "QIRA" AND AS PER HIM THIS IS 7TH IMAM "HAMZA"

STYLE OF QIRAT, BUT IN THIS QIRAT STYLE SOME WORD OF QURAN CHANGED FOR EXAMPLE

IN SURAH FATIHA  HE READ  "MALIKI YAUMIDDIN" I/O " MAALIK YAUMIDDIN" , "ANAMTA ALIHUM" I/O " ANAMTA ALIHIM" "MAGHDOOBI ALIHUM I/O "MAGHDOOBI ALIHIM"

IN THE SAME WAY THERE ARE SOME CHANGES IN OTHER SURAH WHICH I FORGET.

I JUST WANT TO KNOW IS IT CORRECT ,AS I DONT KNOW ARABIC IS THEIR ANY CHANGE OF MEANING OCCUR WHEN WE USE OTHER QIRAT STYLE?

Quran dialect for edit

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Sahih Muslim Hadith 1789 Narrated by Ubayy ibn Ka'b

The Messenger of Allah (saws) was near the cistern of Banu Ghifar when Jibrael (a.s.) came to him (saws) and said: ‘Allah has Commanded you to recite the Qur'an in one dialect to your people.’ Upon this the Prophet (saws) said: ‘I ask from Allah pardon and forgiveness. Make affairs easy for my people.’ He (Jibrael (a.s.)) then came for the second time and said: ‘Allah has Commanded you that you should recite the Qur'an to your people in two dialects.’ Upon this he (saws) again said: ‘I seek pardon and forgiveness from Allah, Make affairs easy for my people.’ He (Jibrael (a.s.)) came for the third time and said: ‘Allah has Commanded you to recite the Qur'an to your people in seven dialects, and in whichever dialect they recite, they will be right.’

Dear and beloved brother in Islam, the Glorious Quran of Allah can be recited in any of the seven dialects it was revealed in; and in whichever of the seven dialects one recites the Glorious Book of Allah in, it would be accurate and correct and there would be absolutely no change to its meanings.

Some amongst the knowledgeable and expert ‘Qurras’ or recitors of the Glorious Quran have memorized and mastered the recitation of the Quran in more than one dialect, and there is absolutely no harm if the dialect they chose to recite in is slightly different from the ‘Quraishi’ dialect in which the Quran was collected and documented….rest absolutely assured that the dialect does not in any way change the meanings of the Glorious Words of Allah, nor is there any diminish in its rewards.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
