One of our brothers/sisters has asked
this question:
I was wondering if a woman should say a certain Duaa while washing herself
after menstruation and/or sexual contact? Long ago my mother did say that there
was a duaa that I need to say while taking a ghusl after menstruation and
recently I was just discussing this with my other cousins and every one of us
had a totally different duaa. Also I was going through a book by Bilal

Answer:
Dua at Ghusl
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
There is no prescribed specific dua or supplication taught
by the Messenger of Allah (saws) which a believer is required or obliged to
recite before, during, or after one takes a full bath or ‘ghusl’ to purify
oneself from sexual or major impurities.
One only needs to make an intention in ones heart that he/she wishes to
purify him/herself, declare ‘Bismillah’, and perform the full bath or ‘ghusl’
according to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws).
Although the making of a supplication is neither a
condition nor an obligation for performing ‘ghusl’, if one wills one may make
the supplication which the Prophet (saws) used to make regularly:
‘Allah hummaj alni minat tawwabeen, wajalni
minal muta-tahhereen’
(O Allah make me amongst those who are
constant in seeking repentance, and make me amongst those who keep themselves
pure and clean.)
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.

well wisher in Islam,
Burhan
