Answer:
Husband wishes to marry again
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask
for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever
He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that
there is no one (no idol, no person, no
grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah
Nisaa verse 3:
3 If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the
orphans, marry women of your choice two or three or four; but if ye fear
that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them) then only one or
(a captive) that your right hands possess.
That will be more suitable to prevent you from doing injustice.
Recognizing the polygamous nature of man, Allah Subhanah
has permitted (but not commanded) the believing men to marry more than one wife
and keep a maximum of upto four wives at any one time if they wish to do so,
provided the husband sincerely intends to be fair and just amongst all his
wives.
Dear and beloved sister, the truth is that by nature men
are created polygamous and it is in their nature that they can hold, love,
cherish and support more than one wife, and upto a maximum of four wives at any
one time. If one amongst the men has
made up his mind to marry more than one woman, there is very little one can do
to change his mind….for if forced or coerced not to marry again, the person may
very well divorce his first wife and take on another wife, or (Allah forbid) may
develop illicit relations with another woman out of marriage, which is
absolutely prohibited and a grave sin in Islam.
If one’s husband has decided to marry again and keep a
second wife, the first wife has one of two options:
- Accept
the situation that her husband will get married again and save her
marriage.
- If
she cannot bring herself to accept the situation that her husband is
getting married to another woman for whatever reason, she is well within
her rights in Islam to initiate divorce proceedings against her husband,
and there would be no sin upon her.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to
Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only
Source of Strength.
Your brother and well wisher in
Islam,
Burhan
