One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
As Salaam Aleikum,
Dear Brother,
I would like to know what is the real dua that the prophet mohammad (SAW)
recited after having suhur and what is the dua he recited before breaking fast
and the dua after breaking fast. I would appreciate if you could tell me the
Hadiths number.

Answer:
Supplication breaking fast
In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your Question: I would like to
know what is the real dua that the prophet mohammad (SAW) recited after having
suhur
Anas reported that the Messenger of Allah said: "Eat a
pre-dawn meal (before fasting), for there are blessings in it."
Related by Bukhari and Muslim.
Al-Miqdam ibn Madyakrib reported that the Prophet (saws) said:
"You should eat this pre-dawn meal (before fasting) for it is a blessed
nourishment."
Related by an-Nasa'i.
The
Messenger of Allah (saws) encouraged the believers to eat a pre-dawn meal
before starting their fast, and to the best of our knowledge there is no
particular dua or supplication recorded in the authentic narrations which the
Messenger of Allah (saws) would recite specifically before or after the ‘suhur’
or pre-dawn meal.
Your Question: and what is the dua
he recited before breaking fast
Sunan of Abu-Dawood 2351 Narrated
by Mu'adh ibn Zuhrah
The Prophet of Allah (saws) used to say when he (saws) broke his
fast: ‘O Allah, for Thee I have fasted, and with Thy provision I have broken my
fast.’
Your Question: and the dua after
breaking fast.
Sunan of Abu-Dawood Hadith 2350 Narrated
by Abdullah ibn Umar
When the Messenger of Allah (saws) had broken his fast he (saws)
would say: ‘The thirst has gone, the glands are moist, and the reward is
confirmed, if Allah Wills.’
