Answer:
Marriage and rukhsati
In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Islam has
neither specified nor restricted an age whereby the believers can choose to
marry, thus it is permissible and lawful for one to marry at any age one
wishes. It is also absolutely lawful and
permissible if one for any reason wishes to perform the nikaah at a certain
date and hold the ‘rukhsati’ at a later date of their choice.
It is
recorded in authentic and established Sunnah that the time difference between
the Nikaah and ‘rukhsati’ of the Prophet’s (saws) marriage with Hadrat Aisha
(r.a.) was in excess of three years.
Thus
there is absolutely no harm and no restriction in Islam if a boy of 19 years
wishes to marry a girl of 16 and hold the ‘rukhsati’ at a later date of their
choice.
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me alone.
Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in
Islam,
