One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

WHAT IS THE BASIC DIFFERENCE FOR OFFERING (PERFORMING) NAMZ_E_WATIR WAJIB IN MAKKAH & MADINA (SAUDI ARAB) & PAKISTAN.

WEATHER PAKISTANI OFFER BEHIND THE IMAM K`ABA OR CAN OFFER SEPARATE BREIFLY ANSWERING IN ALL FIQAH

Answer:

Witr in Makkah

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no person, no grave, no prophet, no imam, no dai, nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

There is absolutely no difference in the manner and procedure for the offering of the witr prayers, regardless of where they are offered.

It is reported that Hadrat Ali (r.a.) said: "The witr prayer is not required like your obligatory prayers, but the Prophet (saws) would perform the witr prayer and say: 'O you people [followers] of the Qur'an, perform the witr prayer, for Allah is One and He loves the witr.'"

The ‘witr’ prayers are not obligatory like the five obligatory prayers, and except for Ramadan when they may be offered along with the ‘qiyam-ul-layl’ in congregation if one wishes to do so; the ‘witr’ prayers at all other times are best prayed individually.

Your Question: WEATHER PAKISTANI OFFER BEHIND THE IMAM K`ABA OR CAN OFFER SEPARATE

It is only in the holy month of Ramadan the Imam at the Sacred Mosque or any other mosque offers the ‘witr’ prayers in congregation for the convenience of the worshippers. If one has intentions of offering more voluntary prayers after ‘tarawih’, then it would be best to delay the offering of their ‘witr’ prayers and make them the last prayer of the night.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith 2.112 Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar

The Prophet (saws) said, "Make Witr as your last prayer at night."

But if the believer who prays the ‘tarawih’ in Ramadan in congregation behind the Imam and does not intend to offer more voluntary prayers after the ‘tarawih’, he has the option of praying the ‘witr’ in congregation with the Imam or individually, whichever is convenient and easier for him.

Other than the month of Ramadan when the ‘witr’ prayers may be offered in congregation if one wishes to do so; the ‘witr’ prayers at all other times are best offered individually as was the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (saws).

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

Your brother and well wisher in Islam,

Burhan
