Answer:
Dua to
release stress
In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai, nobody!) worthy of
worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad(saws) is His
slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Dear and
Beloved Brother in Islam, this magnificent Book of Divine Guidance called the
Quran was revealed for no other reason that to relieve those who followed it of
the perils and stress of this transitory worldly life!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 10 Surah Yunus verse 57: O mankind! there hath come to you a direction from your Lord (the
Quran) and a healing for the (diseases) in your hearts, and for those who believe:
a Guidance and a Mercy.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 17 Surah Israa verse 57:
82 We send down (stage by stage) in the Qur'an that which is a healing
and a mercy to those who believe: to the unjust it causes nothing but loss
after loss.
83 Yet when We bestow Our favors on man he turns away and becomes
remote on his side (instead of coming to Us) and when Evil seizes him he gives
himself up to despair!
84 Say: "Everyone acts according to his own disposition: but your
Lord knows best who it is that is best guided on the Way."
Only when
one recites and understands and accepts and obeys the Diving Guidance of the
Glorious Quran, he will recognize Allah and His Noble and Exclusive Attributes,
believe in His Promises, and realize that only in the absolute submission of
Allah’s Wills and Plans lies the antidote or the answer to the perils and
trials of this transitory life!
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 13 Surah Raad verse 28-29: The
people who have accepted (the Message),
their hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah. Note it well!, that is Allah’s remembrance Alone that brings
contentment to the hearts! Blessed
are those who have accepted the Message and done righteous deeds. They will have a good end.
Thus it
is only through the guidance and acceptance of the Glorious Quran whereby one
will realize that this worldly life is no more than a test and a trial, the
results of which will be declared in the Hereafter by the One Who is
All-Knowing, All-Wise.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verses 34-35:
34 We granted not to any man before thee (O Mohamed (saws)) permanent
life (here): if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently?
35 Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and
by good by way of trial: to Us must ye return.
Thus,
whoever blessed with good in the life of this world exults and thinks in his
ignorance that it will last forever; or whoever besotted with trials grieves
and thinks his misery will last forever; have obviously misunderstood the whole
mission of one’s life in this transitory world. For only if one knew for certainty the
reality of the mission, neither would one exult or be arrogant when blessed
with good, nor would one grieve or bring stress upon himself when faced with
difficulties; but both would recognize that they were in a test and would thus
be grateful or patient as the trial demanded.
Allah
gives two of the best examples in the lives of His Prophets Sulaimaan (a.s.)
and Ayyoob (a.s.) in the Glorious Quran.
Prophet Sulaimaan (a.s.) was blessed with so much power and wealth that
no one before him, nor none after him would receive such a glorious kingdom
from Allah. Prophet Sulaimaan (a.s.)
recognized that this blessing was no more than a test from his Lord to see
whether he was grateful for the innumerable favors from his Lord or not.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 27 Surah Naml verse 40: Said one who had knowledge of the Book: "I will bring it to
thee within the twinkling of an eye!"
Then when (Solomon) saw it placed firmly before him he said: "This
is by the Grace of my Lord, to test me whether I am grateful or
ungrateful! And if any is grateful truly
his gratitude is (a gain) for his own soul; but if any is ungrateful truly my Lord
is Free of All Needs Supreme in Honor!"
Conversely,
Allah Subhanah tested Prophet Ayyoob (a.s.) like no man was ever tested in the
annuls of history! First the Lord tests
him by giving him every good in the land: kingdom, and family, and children, and
wealth, and health; and at every stage Prophet Ayyoob (a.s.) was grateful to
his Lord. Then Allah Subhanah put him
through a severe test and took away every single blessing bestowed upon him
whereby Prophet Ayyoob (a.s.) lost his kingdom, his children died one by one,
his wealth was taken away, and an incurable disease was laid upon him for a
prolonged period of time! But at every
stage, Prophet Ayyoob (a.s.) remained constant in his patience and at every
difficulty of his life stayed steadfast on the Straight Path of his Lord and
Creator. Such was the severity of the
trial put upon Prophet Ayyoob (a.s.) by his Lord, and such was the belief and
manifestation of patience and steadfastness of Prophet Ayyoob (a.s.) in the
face of each of his trials, that his
name became synonymous with ‘patience’ in the annuls of the history of
mankind!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 38 Surah Saad verse 44: Truly We found him (Prophet Ayyoob (a.s.)) full of patience and
constancy: how excellent in Our service! Ever did he turn (to Us)!
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verses 83-84:
83 And (remember) Ayyoob when he cried to his Lord "Truly distress
has seized me, but Thou art the Most Merciful of those that are merciful."
84 So We listened to him: We removed the distress that was on him and
We restored his people to him and doubled their number as a Grace from
Ourselves, and a thing for Commemoration for all who serve Us.
Thus my
dear and beloved brother, no matter what good or evil befalls mankind; one must
realize that it is no more than a trial amongst the trials of this worldly
life; and it is only in the Hereafter where the results of ones’ deeds will be
declared.
Some of
the best supplications one may make when afflicted by trials and tribulations
are taught by Allah Subhanah Himself in His Glorious Book of Guidance:
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah Baqarah verses 155-157:
155 Be sure We shall test you with something of fear, and hunger, some
loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil); but give glad tidings to
those who patiently persevere.
156 Who say when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah we belong
and to Him is our return."
157 They are those on whom (descend) blessings from Allah and Mercy, and
they are the ones that receive guidance.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verse 83: And (remember) Ayyoob when he cried to his Lord "Truly
distress has seized me, but Thou art the Most Merciful of those that are
merciful."
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 21 Surah Anbiyaa verse 87-88:
87 And remember Zun-nun (Prophet Yunus (a.s.)) when he departed in
wrath: he imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the depths of darkness "There
is no god but Thou: Glory to Thee: I was indeed wrong!"
88 So We listened to him: and delivered him from distress: and thus do
We deliver those who have faith.
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in Islam,
Burhan
