Nation ruled by a woman
Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa
Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
Salaam Alaikum,
Could
you please consider the following Ahadith :
(1)“ Vol
5, Book 59. Military Expeditions Led By The Prophet (pbuh) (Al-Maghaazi).
Hadith 709.
Narrated
By Abu Bakra : During the days (of the battle) of Al-Jamal, Allah benefited me
with a word I had heard from Allah`s Apostle after I had been about to join the
Companions of Al-Jamal (i.e. the camel) and fight along with them. When Allah`s
Apostle was informed that the Persians had crowned the daughter of Khosrau as
their ruler, he said, "Such people as ruled by a lady will never be
successful."
This was
about a country or a nation. Does this apply to a family or household too?

errors in the above statement. The forum does not change anything from

Answer:
Nation ruled by a woman
In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for
His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He
allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there
is no one (no idol, no person, no grave,
no prophet, no imam, no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Your
Question: This was about a country or a nation. Does this apply to a family or
household too?
Allah
Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verse 34 (part):
Men are the
protectors and maintainers of women because Allah has given the one more than
the other and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly
obedient and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 2 Surah
Baqarah verse 228 (part):
And women shall have
rights similar to the rights against them according to what is equitable; but
men have a degree (of advantage) over them and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise.
Allah Subhanah has given both men and women their sets and duties to be
fulfilled in the sacred bond of marriage, and declared the man as the ‘Qawwam’
or protector and maintainer of the woman in a Islamic household.
If the woman takes over the leadership or becomes the
‘Qawwam’ over the household or the family, that would be something against the
‘fitrah’ or nature of creation; and anything which is done against the ‘fitrah’
or nature of creation would be detrimental to the peace and harmony of the
household desired by Islam.
Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance
and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me.
Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in Islam,
Burhan
