What should be our contribution in Khilaafah?
Mu' meneen
Brothers and Sisters,
As Salaam Aleikum wa
Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be
upon all of you)
One of our
brothers/sisters has asked this question:
How to reconstruct the
KILAFAH? What should be our controbution to
reconstruct it?
(There may be some
grammatical and spelling errors in the above statement. The forum does not
change anything from questions, comments and statements received from our
readers for circulation in confidentiality.)
Answer:
What should be our contribution in
Khilaafah?
In the
name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness.
Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray,
none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is no one (no idol, no
person, no grave, no prophet, no imam,
no dai,
nobody!) worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that
Muhammad(saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.
Allah Subhanah has laid upon the believers one duty and
responsibility:
Allah says in the Holy Quran Chapter 51 Surah Dhariyat verse 56: I have
not created the jinn and men except for this that they should worship Me alone.
This duty
can be broken down into two parts:
On an
individual level as a believer
and,
as on a collective level as an Ummah
It is the
duty of every muslim to learn and follow the approved
way of life called ‘Al-Islam’ in light of the guidance of the Quran and Sunnah, and to
propagate this deen beyond the self-created barriers
of race, language, color, caste, nationality, geography, etc.
And when
every muslim on an individual level strives to become
a ‘true’ muslim, it is only natural that as an Ummah they will strive to establish the Commands and Laws
of Allah Subhanah on the land; and the natural
process of this would be a leadership or ‘Khilaafah’
of the believers to come into existence.
If one
tries to reverse this natural process, and tries to enforce the leadership or ‘Khilaafah’ first before the majority of the population become ‘true’ believers; it will result in
divisions, anarchy, and dissension amongst the Ummah.
Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 13 Surah Raad verse 11(part): Verily never will Allah change the condition of a people, until they
change it themselves (with their own souls).
Our
contribution and the contribution of every true believer, who sincerely
believes in Allah and the Last Day and wishes to live his life under the
Command and Law of Allah Subhanah on this earth, is
to first and foremost, wholeheartedly embrace Islam in his own life; and
secondly propagate this approved way of life to all who are willing to listen
to good caution.
Once this
is accomplished, the
natural process of this would be the unity of the believers, and thus the
accomplishment of a ‘khilaafah’ political
system. This process may take fifty
years, or a hundred years, or even five-hundred years….Allah Alone Knows Best, but this is the
system which will bring about a united Khilaafah
leadership amongst the believers.
A similar
question of the establishment of the ‘khilaafah’ was
put forward to a learned scholar in one of our study groups, and the scholar
gave a reply which had plenty of food for thought. His opinion to the timing of the
establishment of the ‘khilaafah’ was: “The day you see the believers attend the congregational ‘fajr’ prayers in the mosques as you see them attend the ‘Jumuaa’ prayers, know that the ‘khilaafah’
is not far away!’
Whatever
written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance,
and whatever of error is of me. Allah
Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
Your Brother in Islam,
Burhan
