Vitiligo disease and suicidal thoughts

Mu' meneen Brothers and Sisters,

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

Salaam, if a female cannot get married due to having the condition vitiligo Is it a sin. I am worried I cannot complete half of my faith and cannot have the blessing of raising a child. If I cannot fufil this, does it mean I cannot please Allah? Please make Dua for me as I am failing into depression and although I never would, I have.suicidal thoughts, if I cannot get married for the pleasure of Allah and cannot have children for the pleasure of Allah then do I have a purpose in life?

Answer:

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright. We bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah Alone, and we bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave-servant and the seal of His Messengers.

Sister if you are not receiving proposals owing to a vitiligo condition, then you will not fall into the category of dis-pleasing Allah swt.. The command of getting married is for normal people to complete their half of faith. You are already undergoing a severe trial and InshaAllah if you have patience, are thankful and grateful and have faith you will be the recipient of huge rewards. Allah swt is aware of the situation of all His slaves. He is the most just, and you will not be accountable for something not in your control. Therefore erase the suicidal thoughts, keep all your faith and trust in your Lord alone and InshaAllah you will be successful in this world and the hereafter. Allah swt tests His slaves in different ways, and your test is obvious. May Allah ajjavajal make your trials easy.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah’s Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength. Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.
